Moore to start

Bengals had the best pair of Cbs in the league (what several analysts claimed anyway), Saints have a top 7 defense, Bears have a top 10 defense that had an intimidating Peppers on its Dline.

Moore went up against the Giants, which have the 2nd best D in the league right now. He walked away with around a 32 qb rating. So hard defenses have been harsh for both of our young Qbs.

9ers were 16th in D before this weeks Raiders game that moved them from 16th to 10th. Arguably the 2nd softest defense we've had to play this season, so far. The Bucs being the softest. If Moore is ever going to step up, then the 9ers are a decent team to do it against.

Well, if there is one thing I take from all this...Fox really wants Moore to make it as the starter for the Panthers! I guess so it makes his decision in the offseason look halfway smart.

I mean really? Matt gets to play the lowly Bucs, and TERRIBLE Giants team (until the last two weeks) while Jimmy had to play the best defenses / teams in the league, in the rain and in a dome...then they put Moore back in for the freakin 49ers? WOW

If Moore follows what he has done thus far this year against terrible teams we lose again!

Anyway, good luck Matt!

P.S. Fox, Please just run the ball in the redzone!

Now that is even more than a stretch.

Same people that said Fox did not want Moore as his starter, is now saying that Fox wants Moore to be his starter.

Stop....think a few seconds...and realize how completely stupid that form of logic sounds.

That is all.

But now they're going back to Moore. And he can indeed earn a contract for 2011 and beyond...if he plays lights out. But if you take away the Vikings and Giants 2009 games, and look at the rest of his career...I just don't see "lights out" at all, and don't see him getting us to 8-8 this season...which is what, IMHO, it'll take to re-sign him.

.

if you take away those two games he is 4-4 as a starter.......not sure how you justify taking away 2 games in an evaluation.

No one said he was lights out. At 6-4, Moore has shown potenital. Good and bad. Schedule is weak enough I could see Moore winning 6-7 if he gets going.

Giants do RIGHT NOW! Go back and look at their stats for the first 3 weeks. The team has picked it up A LOT since talk of firing the coach sprung up AGAIN. Lets see, last time that happened those guys won a SB for their coach...hmmmm, maybe Richardson should slip a little something out to the media :D

Moore hasn't played against, what is considered, a good defense at all this year and look at his stats, not saying Jimmy's is better because they aren't, but I would like to see Jimmy against a TB, a week one Giants D, OR the weak arse Niners D!

There is no room for logic or reason here. Moore is not a Fox guy! Fox wants Moore to start! Fox isn't making the decisions the FO wants Clausen to start! Fox hates Clausen! The FO loves Moore!

See it's way more fun to just say things with no basis behind them. Any excuse to protect the rook.

Well then good sir, mayhaps you can enlighten all of us to the real reasons the coaching staff is doing what they have done thus far this year. Obviously you have the inside scoop; amirite?

Hey! That;s mine to post!!! :)

Fox is a dumbass! Leave Moore in, sink or swim but leave him in, neither are going to do poo behind the Oline. But at least Moore will do a better job...maybe. But to switching back and forth only ruins both QBs.

Yep I agree, we can't keep switching the QB's, if Moore is going to start I hope Fox leaves him in the rest of the year; for consistency sake if nothing else

Because they are completely inept.

You are giving them too much credit. Your conspiracy theory assumes the basic premise that they are smart enough to come up with an actual plan.

My belief is that Fox is so damned stubborn that he still believes his offensive scheme will work.

I personally agreed with Fox's call to go to Clausen. Moore was struggling mightily. Needed to see if Clausen could have some rookie magic. He didn't, so I am fine with going back to Moore at this point of the season.

Giants aren't a weak D. There DL has been causing problems since week 1 forward.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
