  1. 1. Who wins?

Who's the best DB on the Panthers roster? Also how has your punt and kickoff coverage been for you guy's this season? Ted Ginn has come close a few times to taking one to the house.

Chris Gamble is far and away the best CB we have. Richard Marshall (CB) has been just awful this year, (especially tackling) which is ironic considering the mini-holdout he attempted during the off-season.

ST's coverage is much improved from last year, not sure I can objectively rate how it stacks up to others.

I use to post there until I got banned.... Anyway. The average Red Zone poster is a complete douche bag... One second they are crying the next second they are talking like you saw... I just ignore most of them.

I like this forum, so far everyone has been pretty cool. The pnly negative I see is there is a lot of negativity around here. Of course its pretty much justified by the way your team has been playing but still...

Our team is good at tacklingoverage is much improved from last year, not sure I can objectively rate how it stacks up to others.

So I'm guessing Gamble will cover Crabtree, should be a good matchup. Josh Morgan is our number two wideout who has been a little bit of a disappointment this season. One thing he is good at when he gets the ball is breaking tackles, definitely gonna keep an eye out on that matchup.

That's why we fired our offensive coordinator, we were so predictable defenses would completely shut us down. Why haven't the Panthers made coaching changes if the playcalling is that bad? It was the best thing the 49ers have done this season. On the flip side it l's unfortunate Alex Smith has to have yet another OC but it needed to be done.

I don't know why.....wish I did.

Best corner is Gamble.

Coverage has been decent this year on kicks.

If we play our very best game against the 49ers, it'd go something like this:

The right side of our offensive line would have a game with ZERO false start penalties(a stretch).

The left side(Gross/Wharton) of our offensive line would push well against Franklin and Smith(realistic), and prevent any linebacker blitzes from Patrick Willis(a stretch).

A Tight End would be receive a pass at least once in each quarter of the game(a stretch).

David Gettis would have his first 100 yard game of his career, agaisnt Spencer(realistic).

Brandon LaFell would have ZERO drops and false starts(a stretch).

We'd have at least one play where Armanti Edwards ran a reverse/wildcat/"mountaineer"(a stretch).

Matt Moore would throw a bomb on first down, and it would be successful(a stretch)

Our linebackers would hold Vernon Davis to less than 50 yards and no touchdowns(realistic).

Our linebackers would hold Frank Gore to less than 100 yards rushing(realistic).

Charles Godfrey would intercept an Alex Smith passes(realistic)

A linebacker would intercept an Alex Smith pass(a stretch)

We would try bltizing Alex Smith at least once per quarter(a stretch)

Our special teams would act like they are going to try and block the kicking team(a stretch)

Our special teams will attempt a successful on-side kick(a stretch)

Mike Goodson would return his first kick for a touchdown(a stretch)

Our kick/punt return men will nto fumble a single kick(realistic)

Our kicker will put the 49ers offense in terrible field position(realistic)

Crabtree isn't a concern. Davis down the seam is a concern...

Crabtree has been coming on as of late, he has a TD in each of the last two games along with a 100 yard receiving game. Seems like Alex Smith and him are finally getting on the same page as each other. Vernon has also had a TD in each of the last two games as well as a 100 yard receiving day... They both could be a cause for concern. Who do you expect to try and cover VD?

eh, Gamble is good enough to limit Crabtree.

Not sure we have anyone that can matchup w/ Vernon if he is healthy and yall are throwing to him. Historically, TE's have been a nightmare for Fox....a little better now that Meeks has joined.

SO VERY TRUE.

Which also makes me believe that John Fox just doesn't understand the TE position, because we've never had good production from any tight end since he's been our head coach, AND his defenses have a hard time factoring them in. This is over the course of multiple coordinators, both offense and defense.

And it's a shame too, because Dante Rosario is a playmaker who has made game winning catches for us when we would have lost without his catch(San Diego/TD). And Gary Barnidge has good hands too. We are deep at the TE position, at least compared to most positions, and yet we don't appear to be creating plays designed for TE passes.

we just need to steal the Jets playcalls. They use Keller perfectly.

I haven't heard if Vernon is going to play yet, hopefully he does. It sounds like he could have a big day against tour defense.

Remember when we gave you our second round draft pick and in return we got your 1st rounder? Who did you draft Everett Brown? How's he been playing for you guys? Does he get pressure on the oppositions QB?

I think he plays less than 50% of defensive snaps, and is woefully ineffective. If I'm wrong, I'll be brutally corrected here shortly.
