Depends on what mood you catch him in. I've seen him be the biggest jerk in the world...I've seen him be a nice guy.

For what it's worth, I think Favre is a jerk. I just know how things work behind the scenes, and sometimes the charity is treated like a football. That turns a lot of these guys off and I can understand why.

I'm sending you a PM about something I witnessed because I don't think it should go out on this board. Turned me off on doing things because the organization said to.

I agree on the Smitty comment, I love him as a football player. But as a person he is very temperamental.

Players have what they have because of fans. Yes, I expect them to give back.

AP went above and beyond.

Some athletes are asses. You cant really know how they are unless you work with them or around them alot. Some of the ones you think are the best in the world do things to make themselves look that way. But in real life they arent. There are also alot that are genuinely nice people.

You know who else did something like that recently? Aaron Rodgers. Meaning he took the little girl around the facilities and showed her all the stuff the players do.

Instantly agree. The longer I have followed this game (or heck, any sport), the more and more I'm drawn to the "high character" guys (or gals, coaches, etc...), who do good things (outside of their profession) because it's what they are, not what they want to be perceived as being.

I'm even to the point of being sickened by the guys who put out press releases to show charitable contributions or actions. What a backwards way of living. Do something for somebody because you give a damn, not because you need credit for doing it.

I've always liked AP, this info just adds to it.

There was a Panther who, when we would do community appearances with several players, would have his own cameraman there to take pictures of him helping the community. He never did anything unless the camera was on him, either.
