I Think we got the lemon QB in the draft

Damn that not a good look for a pro ready qb coming out.

Real talk, Jimmy can't even get over 100 yards!

You know what I'm tired of him skipping the ball off the ground on quick smoke screens and on missing hitches there has to be a difference in rookie learning and not being that accurate. He's missing deep routes with underthrown balls maybe we just have to enjoy this lemonade

That we DO throw a lot of short passes.

I'm glad you provided that stat, but I want to point out that I don't think that it's our offense is designed for us to throw short passes, Clausen throws short passes.

Part of many people's concerns about him coming out in the draft was his habit of checking down, which inflated his college stats, and his inability to throw it deep, or at least throw it deep well. That stat shows that concern was legitimate. Difference is, I think he and Smitty weren't getting along well before Smitty was injured and he was looking him off, and we don't have a big YAC guy beside him.

We are easily the worst offensive team too, and Clausen is only a part of that. He does seem better suited for a WC offense.. however, he isn't last in 40 yard completions at least! haha.

Not that it is possible to ever prove it, but I firmly believe that if you put any rookie on our roster, and hell, almost any QB, they would be bad if not terrible, too. =\ Not sure what happened between the end of last year and this year. Loss of Moose, Hoover, and Otah that huge? :(

He is in 20+ ones, though, and he can definitely make 20 yard completions.

I do not think his arm strength is one of his major issues. People have pointed out a bad release point etc, but I never remember reading about that in his scouting report. Did I just miss it, or has our QB coach worked wonders on our new rookie?

The thread is comparing to other ROOKIES, some who have started LESS than 3.

true enough. Mccoy only needed one game to equal Jimmy's TDs(and INTs, lol) in his three starts.

However, let's hold off on crowning Mccoy - or Bradford, for that matter - for a bit yet. Same with tossing out Jimmy.

His game against Chicago was one of the worst QB performances I've seen in a long, long time. His game against NO gave me some hope, but Chicago definitely was baad.

At this point, drawing any conclusions other than "Bradford has played pretty well in some games and not so well in others, Mccoy played ok for a rookie in one, and Clausen played absolutely abysmal in one" would be premature, imo.
