By the narrowest of margins. Do you have to have a room to enjoy the free liquor?

If you have a friend who has a room and he can get one of the passes they give out to those staying there, you can go. But someone has to be staying at the hotel.

Most hotels within walking distance have a two night minimum restriction on certain weekends. I looked up online with Kayak and through the Holiday and Hilton websites and that seems to be the case for the 23rd. The Holiday Inn on Billy Graham was renovated a few years back and is a decent deal if you just want to stay somewhere close. It's about four miles south on Tryon. The Hilton by UNCC is actually much nicer for about the same price, but it is farther away from downtown. If you absolutely have to stay near the stadium, call the hotels this week and ask if they will be opening any rooms up for Saturday night only. Depending on booking pace and how nice you are to the rep, they might slide you in.
