PeppersOut. You do not understand how this whole situation will go about.

Peppers will let the FO know which teams he personally is interested in, which in turn we will then contact and get the best deal. Once that is settled Peppers will negotiate the contract with said team. Alternatively we will give a list of teams to Peppers on who meets our criteria and he can pick from them.

We will bounce all the interested teams off each other. If you seriously think that teams are not interested in Peppers then you are nuts. If you also think that the Panthers FO will not communicate then you are nuts. They are both treating it as it is - like business.

Fact is we will get the best possible deal we can by using the interested teams against each other. You think that these teams would prefer to wait till he is a free agent? Well chances are that will not happen for a year as we WILL tag him. If they were to wait and we did not tag him, then they would enter a bidding war with each other but not on draft, but on GUARENTEED MONEY. The reason teams will try and trade for him now is because they will NOT have a bidding war when it comes to the contract negotiations. Every GM would rather trade a few picks than get into a bidding war on a premier players contract and it is the same reason why all players would prefer to hit the free agency market. The money goes up that way as the player can bounce teams off each other.

No. We have the power. He can't just walk away if we tag him. Teams would also prefer to trade for him than risk the chance of getting into contract bidding on the open market. So all the interested teams will try and get it wrapped up very quickly.

He has not forced our hand regarding his situation. He has forced out hand regarding Gross contract. Gross will more likely get paid over the odds now, because we can't let them both go.

Oh and comparing Peppers to a former alcoholic is a bit silly. Allens history may have hurt his stock somewhat. Peppers, contrary to most fans beliefs has been very professional all throughout his career here and didn't even say a bad thing or cause problems even though he id not want to be here.

Peppers stock has not been hurt one tiny bit.

He still has quite a bit of power in the trade negotiations. I agree with the point you made about gross, he's going to get a contract now (because he made the pro bowl and had the most votes of any OT in the league in the All-Pro) That makes him one of if not the highest paid OT in league history. Look for something along the lines of what Jake long got for his contract. 5 - 6 years for 60 million with around 20 mill in guaranteed money..Unfortunately we have to pay him that much.

Most posters on here think the Packman co-hosts - and Packman himself - are idiots.

Outside of guests like Gantt, Reed, Buckner, etc. they have nobody that knows jack.

And I'd have to agree with others, why is this idiot even still here?

(unless somebody's going the lame ass alias route again)

Peppersout I respect your ability to hide your trolling behind some well written posts. Frankly you can take your Panthers hate and stuff it.

Chill out with the trolling.

I found out a long time ago that the best way to troll/flame bate was to 1st be thought out, 2nd use some truth and 3rd lie your ass off.

I've been banned and unbanned by 2 different mods in one day on a MB that I used to visit because I knew how to push buttons but claim that an actual legit argument was taking place.

Of course with that said they did catch onto what I was doing the next day and threatend to perm bad me if I did it again. lol

I'm pretty sure he is Peppers agent. Or someone who works for Peppers agent. Or Peppers agent deformed half brother who pulls Peppers agent strings behind the scene. Or maybe someone from the future who really doesn't want Carolina to get a 1st round pick out of it because it will start the chain of events that will lead to the end of the world. Or something like that....

I told you guys that other GMs are going to try and call the Panthers FO bluff :dupe:

GMs know that Peppers don't won't to be on this team. The last thing an organization wants is a disgruntle player in the locker room.

Look, I know most of you are dreaming of a 1st rder in return for him, but it isn’t happening because Peppers tipped his hand which puts the Panthers at a disadvantage.:mad:

No GM worth his salt are going to give you a 1st rder when they know Peppers don't wont to play here and the Panthers can't afford (not literally) to pay him if he is not traded, especially when they have to sign Gross.

Yeah- you can trade him to any team, but no team will give you any picks w/o a long term deal. Therefore, Peppers has the advantage in this situation.

Again, to all the fans, local talk host and Panthers FO, please move on and don't p i s s Peppers off. This is not the 1st time a player has decided to leave his hometown. You act like the guy has committed a sin because he doesn’t want to play here anymore. While I don’t agree with how he handle the situation, its still his choice. Some of you act like Charlotte is a top market or some big-time city, and it’s not by a LONG shot. Of course, its not the worse city, but its not even in the top 15 when it comes to places where top entertainers or athletes (minus Race Car) want to hang out or live. Michael Jordan is the GM of the Bobcats and yet he’s not here 20% of the time during the NBA season. And please don’t tell me I’m lying because they talk about it all the time on 610/1660 talk shows. I’m just being honest with you as to how others view this city outside of the Carolinas. In sports you have to have some sort of attraction for athletes, whether it’s the weather, entertainment, big-market, winning history- you get the point. The state of North Carolina is and always will be college BASKETBALL. Period!

I digress-

Many local talk-heads are now saying that Peppers might even hold out and sit for 2009. To make matters worse, they don't believe Peppers is all that hyped and anxious to play football next year, anyways. Either way, your team could lose- out on compensation.

Another thing- Peppers is expressing his desire to play in a 3-4 defense. This would also limit trade options for the Panthers as many of the teams that run that scheme are pretty much set. So, unless Peppers changes his options then the Panthers might be s-c-r-e-w-e-d!

With that being said- I think the Pepper will garner a low round in the 2nd and a 3rd or maybe two 3rds or a 4th rounder. IMHO-That is better than nothing

This post has Cowboy Retard written all over it.
