Anyone else hate Nascar?

I can't stand watching it.

A friend of mine growing up is actually a Nascar driver. He finally made it. Which is great for him but even more proof that it takes absolutely ZERO athletic ability. My buddy (i wont say his name since i'm slamming him atm) was pretty bad at sports. At camp he was terrible at them all. He was slow and not coordinated at all. He looked like a goof ball when he tried top play basketball or run. What he was good at is talking and selling himself. That is all it is about. It's about who you know and if you convince them to support you.

I dont like it because I dont consider it a real sport. How do you score points drivin in a circle?? What make the drivers athletes? They can hold their pee for 4 hours? Their left arms get real athletic??

Dont get me wrong, I can appreciate it for what it is -One helluva good time. Went to Richmond a few years back, saw T.Stewart's 1st win, and had a BLAST!

Most of those guys are in pretty damn good shape. Pro Athlete shape.

Anyway I loved it at one time. Now it bores me

I gave up on going to NASCAR events back in the 90s when Bruton/Humpy had the bright idea to try and emulate the NFL and sell season tickets for all CMS events (it was still called Charlotte Motor Speedway back then IIRC). Pretty sure that idea crashed and burned, idk, I left and never looked back. I discovered the NFL provided much more bang for your entertainment buck at a live event. I still watch some of the races on tv, but usually only the last 1/10th of the laps, until then they're just riding around out there. I've never been a fan of "championship points" in any form of motorsport. It breeds mediocrity IMO. If a season champion must be crowned, just add up the wins. A race should be about, you know, winning that particular race, not points racing for a lame-ass bean counter's championship.

Really??? I have not seen that to be the case.

he's in better shape than it looks like he is. It's an endurance sport. Not one you need to have all the bulging muscles for

I grew up in Concord, you got nothing on me yet amigo.

No, I like NASCAR as a sport, but NASCAR the sanctioning body has a lot of work to do on their product.

QFT. my biggest gripe with them is that the season is so long. lots of people out there are like dimbee and I. 10 less races would put the chase ending before the beginning of football.

like baseball pro-athlete? or like swimmer pro-athlete?

baseball obviously. i don't think anyone ever argued against Babe Ruth being an athlete though.

After being forced to work at the speedway for the last fourteen years i have come to despise nascar. The races are filthy, loud, boring, ten hour wastes of time. Half the retard race fans try to leave right before the race is over to avoid traffic which is impossible. Which is also confusing because the only part of the huge waste of time worth seeing is the last lap.
