Comparing quarterbacks

I agree he didn't have much of chance but after then drafted Jimmy with the second round pick, everyone considered him the franchise quarterback. He would sit the bench while Moore took us through the season. What hurt him was last year when he had his 8-1 touchdown ratio, and won us a few games at the end of the year. Then this year he came in and has basically done the complete opposite. So they turned to Clausesn. They assumed Clausen could come in a turn things around because the offense is what he was us to at ND... Moores been with the Panthers and in the NFL longer than Clausen and should be performing better than Clausen and he hasn't.

Clausen has been given more of a chance to have success.....and he hasn't. Again, Moore was given such a small window it really makes judgement on him tough (if Moore hadn't proven he can play in 2 different seasons prior it would be alot easier to blow him).

My post count says otherwise. It's just getting a tad ridiculous. Every other post is Clausen this, Moore that, Clausen that, Moore this. It's getting old.

Sorry, I know it is getting old. Blame Godfrey for improving his play heading into the bye week. Normally I could find a way to bring him into discussions but he isn't slowly shutting me up.

Point, is it is hard to talk about the D. Overall, doing a solid job. Like to see some better play at certain spots but for what was suppose to be a weak spot they have been solid.

I even find it hard to bash the recievers on offense. Smitty started off play well and then Clausen can't get him the ball. Gettis and LaFell are rookies.....and both should have some fairly long TDs already registered in the stat book.

QB play and coaching/Richardson....is really all we got right now that is juicy.

but here is the flip side....

Moore has shown he can be better though. Moore is a very young QB.....why are we judging Moore strictly on a game and 3 quarters of football (a brief window where he still had positive play mixed in). If every young QB was benched b/c of a stretch like Moore opened the season with, it would have prevented a lot of solid careers. How do we know Moore couldn't dig himself out of that rough start and be the guy??

Just seems like that door was shut pretty quick......

Because a guy drafted as high as Clausen always gets the opportunity

    • i'm a fan of Leon Bridges anyways, but this song i can't get enough of. nice groove.
    • Yeah we're hoping for a lot to go our way in the draft as far as runs on certain positions after we select and how the board falls prior to our 1st selection. I think it will be really hard if we take TMAC, but i don't see a realistic way of getting a WR1 other than drafting TMAC. Its rough. But this is the situation we find ourselves in after years of bad drafting, bad trades, and poor cap management. IF we take TMAC we gotta hope and pray a run on DL doesn't happen tail end of first/beginning of 2nd. Tough situation, but im excited to see how we address this off-season.
    • Sometimes people say things during this time of year to keep from tipping their hands, but I believe Morgan.  As I look at the offseason in terms of free agency and the draft, I see any path to acquiring an elite WR as either expensive or awkward.  In the draft, taking a WR on days 1 and 2 means you may be overlooking the boatload of talent in areas of need---like edge and DE/DT.  There will be good edge / DL players coming off the board in early round 3, in my view.  We will probably sign a free agent or two, but that means we may still need to draft a NT, DE, and an Edge player--and from what I can tell, these are your best players if the draft goes like I think it will.  If TMac is there, I think you have to take him, but it makes filling the needs at DL, Edge, S, etc. much more difficult. Morgan has a very tough job if you consider the long term--he needs to think about the Bryce contract in two years and not back load or extend too many contracts.  Winning in the NFL is more about math than anyone realizes.  Morgan wants "dawgs" and this draft has them.
