Do you guys believe that it will take time for Harbaugh to adjust to pro game.

Do you think it will take time for Luck to adjust.

Do you think it will take time for team to adjust to new o scheme and new D

I'm a little worried about so liitle experience on team now and then adding a

coach and quarterback with no real pro experience.Im excited about the possibility

of the two coming, but its definately won't be the safe choice and after this year

can Richardson take that kind of risk.

It depends on who he brings in as his coordinators. I assume/hope that if we do hire Harbaugh, he will bring in some experienced NFL coordinators, and if they have previous head coaching experience as well, that is a plus. The problem he'll have at OC is the fact that he'll probably want to have a lot of control on that side of the ball, so whoever he brings in will have to be ok with being Harbaugh's "Mike McCoy."

As for the rest, yes, it will take Luck some time to adjust, but if the new coach doesn't ask him to do too much too early he should be fine (Having Harbaugh in place would also probably speed up Luck's development a bit since he's already familiar and comfortable with him and his system). And I do think JR would be willing to take that risk, as long as Harbaugh shows him his vision is in line with what JR wants, and that he has a solid plan in place to make it work. He'll also have to indicate that he has a solid group of assistants lined up in the event he does get the job. In other words, he'll have to have all his ducks in a row...but then, the same goes for anyone who interviews for the job.

HISTORY: Giants DC (2010) Bills DC (2006-2009, served as interim head coach for final seven games of 2009) Bears DB Coach (2005) Rams DB Coach (2003-2004) Jaguars DB Coach (1998-2002) 13 years as a college coach, the first two at the University of North Carolina

STRENGTHS: History of solid defensive coaching. Coaches a ball-hawking style that has led to its fair share of takeaways with most of his units. Also known for a strong belief in hassling quarterbacks. Restored the Giants defense to good footing after they had gotten shaky under previous DC Bill Sheridan. Team has been ranked one of the highest units consistently all season. A passionate coach who manages to teach players and motivate them without berating them. Players under his tutelage speak very highly of him.

QUESTIONS: Didn’t impress the Bills enough to get the “interim” removed from his first head coaching job. How much is him and how much is the talented Giants defensive unit?

PANTHER CONNECTIONS: Coached alongside Panthers WR Coach Tyke Tolbert in Buffalo. Currently coaching former Panthers S Deon Grant and temporary Panthers Devin Thomas is on the Giants roster.

WHO HE MIGHT BRING WITH HIM: Has worked under Dick Jauron and might ask him to be a DC again. Giants TE Coach Mike Pope has gotten talk as an OC candidate (with the Panthers under Fox).

WHY WE MIGHT NOT GET HIM: Could be a hot commodity in the coaching market.

ODDS AND ENDS: North Carolina native (born in Gastonia). Coached in the early years of the Jaguars under original head coach Tom Coughlin.

ANALYSIS: It’d be pretty ironic to have the Panthers follow up one New York Giants defensive coordinator with another. Fewell’s style might be a little more aggressive than Fox’s, owing to his time under Tom Coughlin. Right now, he’s got plenty of buzz around the league as a head coaching candidate. Still, his time in Buffalo had it’s ups and downs, and the Giants have had a let down or two this season as well. Pretty good chance he gets an interview somewhere, but I have a feeling he might be another year away from being back in the head coaching ranks. I do believe he’ll be back there, though

So I heard through the grape vine that someone ran into Randy Shannon in Charlotte the other day and asked him about getting a DC job somewhere and Randy said he was here to interview for a HC job. Any chance at all it's for the Panthers?

Zero.

The Panthers won't be doing any interviewing until the season is over, and Shannon wouldn't be a candidate.

it shouldn't take much. he played in the league for 13 years, didn't he? and he also coached a year after that. the league has changed some, but not that much that it would matter. it also isn't like he has been without contact in the pros. his brother is a coach and i'm sure the two of them talk about it a good bit. it's a coaching family. he also brings in former pro players to help with his practices at stanford.

point is, he hasn't been isolated from the league and he spent enough time in it as a player and a coach to know whatis going on.

as much as it took any other rookie in recent years. much of it has to do with the game plan and playcalling. also, once he gets a year under his belt he won't be a rookie anymore. you have to think long term in these situations.

maybe a little, but it isn't like the team has been entrenched in a system for years anyway...at least the defense hasn't. meeks system is only 2 years old and half the guys on the defense have only been there for a year. on offense, that system needs to change anyway. on both sides of the ball the game will be changing regardless of who comes in and if it doesn't, then we probably aren't making the right hire.

harbaugh has plenty of pro experience. i don't know why people keep saying he doesn't. harbaugh specializes in rebuilding teams and programs and he is used to working with young guys and getting them motivated. he knows how to get them involved in a pro system that fits them and that is competitive. he isn't some college HC that has never touched the pros and who would be going in blind about what it takes to play with the big boys. he's been in the NFL as a player and a coach.

do you want some guy that is used to working with mainly vets who have been in the league for years, or someone that has been working with guys just a little younger than these players we have right now. one of the things that hurt fox this year was he had been spoiled by having his guys around him for so long. he got used to having old guys and forgot how to coach young guys. you are going to find that with just about any old coach in the league.

Will there be any solid FA Quarterbacks available that are realistic to groom LUCK

should we go that way.what do you think about bringing Delhome back, I did wince a little as I keyed that.I always loved his attitude but not his to's in the redzone

I really think that the Panthers have two great options. I would first look into Brian Schottenheimer as the Head Coach and call on his Dad Marty Schottenheimer whom lives right here in Charlotte as the offensive coordinator. Gives you that young talent and the offensive talent that is desperately needed right now for the panthers.

My second option would be Harbaugh from Stanford and if they do want Luck then allow him to continue to develop him as a QB. Young players and both of these coaches will help you offensively. I am actually pretty excited about next year with the Panthers think it will be better than most people think it will be.

With the rookie cap probably going to happen after the CBA. The number one pick will be a premium this year.

it's simple for me, if they want Luck so bad, TRY to get Jim Harbaugh out of Stanford, if you get Harbaugh, then i am 99.9% certain Luck will go to the draft, BUT if Harbaugh stays at Standford, i think Luck could stay. To me, Harbaugh is the name that will excite the fans, BUT the ONLY way to do ANYTHING is if the owner opens his wallet which i highly doubt he does, he will do EVERYTHING through the draft, which means they better get some picks so they can get a reciever, a backup tackle, a right guard and of course (if they give up on Clausen) a quarterback because Luck can NOT survive next year without a better 2nd reciever and an offensive line that gives him about 2 seconds to pass the ball.
