Potential Head Coaches

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

While I feel that a good Head Coach is very important, I feel that his OC and DC are almost as important.

I love what I see when I look around the league at some of these other good teams, they have very good OC's and DC's, most of them in fact were Head Coaches at one point in there career but it didn't work out. Maybe they just weren't head coaching material that is fine, but they are surely suited to be an OC or DC. Look at the Raven's they have a former HC as their OC in - Cam Cameron. Look at the Bears, they have 3 former HC's on their staff - Marinelli as DC, Martz as OC, and Tice as O Line.

For example I would love to see us just take some younger DC or OC and make them our Head Coach, but let's bring in some guys like Marvin Lewis or Mike Singletary if they get fired as our DC, and find someone that has been a HC before and make them an OC, maybe Childress, I know he wasn't a great HC, but I bet he would make a very good OC.

Come on Jerry...

i like lewis as a DC...would go great with harbaugh as HC. :)

i'll pass on chilly, though. the dude was as much of an OC as mccoy is in denver...just a guy that helped implement the HCs offense. in philly, reid was the OC. he designed the offense and called the plays. chilly was just there to help make sure the offense was able to do what reid wanted it to. he should never have been given a HC job and i wouldn't want him anywhere near this offense.

if we get harbaugh...i want curtis johnson as OC.

harbaugh HC, lewis DC, johnson OC.

dream team. (although i would take zimmer as DC as well).

Would anyone in here agree JR has his eyes narrowed down to 1-3 candidates?

B/C, in review of the list again, and considering what's happening with Jason Garrett & Leslie Frazier, I'm really beginning to think Russ Grimm is the most likely man to become our head coach. He's got the Pittsburgh history (Which Jerry whacks off too), he's an offensive minded coach, and seems to be fiery on the field. He knows how to use O-Line talent and simply appears he could fit the best overall.

Even if we end up somehow getting Cowher, he'll likely bring Grimm in.

I also feel the same way to "Beach".. On the list the Primary candiates are Leslie frazier 1. 2.Jim harbaugh, 3. Mike Zimmer 4. Russ Grimm. On this list you can mark Frazier off an you can maybe mark Harbaugh off, because if luck doesnt come out i seriously think harbaugh wont either. I also believe if other Jobs in college open up he really want come to the NFL then. i also believe when Marvin lewis is let go more then likely Mike Zimmer will take over that job as the coach so you can really mark him off the list to. The only primary candiate is left is Grimm, and harbaugh but if you look at it with most likely you have to go with Grimm.

So now if you look at Mr. Scot list you might have to change it to look like this.

1. Russ Grimm

2. Rob Ryan

3.Brian Schottenheimer

4.Ron Rivera

At number 5 I will say Harbaugh."Maybe"

Any thoughts??

Could the lack of coordinators been move to interm coach in the league have a affect on who the panthers new coach will be next year? I would have to say yeah, just because Frazier will more then likely coach the Vikings next year same as garrett with the Cowboys. we also not to sure on Harbaugh and if he really wants to come to the league. An a Guy Like Mike Zimmer who will more then likely end up been the coach for the bengals next year. Also i know this might be a long shot but Grimm can also end up as the Head coach in Arizona. But I think Wisenhunt will get one more chance.

So that leaves guys like gruden Cowher and Billick. What it does is it actually give them a more then likely chance to end up in Carolina. And even though Richardson is tight he will wont the best avaliable coach.

Now i know Richardson is Old and if something was to ever happen he would want his team in the best hands . An if cowher or billick is that guy it might be either one of them. I would say if it came down to that situation You would have to put our money on Cowher or Billick. Thoughts.?

Titans coach Jeff Fisher revealed Wednesday that offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger will begin undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Fisher confirmed only that Heimerdinger is "very sick," not revealing the details of his cancer. Heimerdinger, known commonly as "'Dinger" around the league, has been the Titans' playcaller since 2008. He has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL for nine seasons. He also served under Mike Shanahan as a receivers coach and assistant head coach in Denver. QBs/passing game coach Dowell Loggains will take over the play calls in Tennessee

Grimm was coaching in Washington when Hurney was there, it's certain they probably know each other
