Bring in the ground penetrating radar!

I've given up hope that they will find her alive. But I hope that they find her and bring her peace! (And if her parents did this. I hope they burn in Hell!)

People are just fuging stupid to think they can still get away with poo like this these days. With the advances in forensic technology, chances are very slim you will get off unless you have an awesome lawyer and someone fugs up the chain of custody with evidence

Yep, I was watching Dr. G earlier and thinking the same thing, chances are really slim.

I hope these people are making a deal to avoid the death penalty because I think their prison life will be worthy of them. There is nothing terrible enough for these two. I hope they rot in hell but I hope they experience hell on earth first.

How incredibly sad to read that they found her leg.

HICKORY - The owner of a crime memorabilia website is selling two letters he claims he received from Elisa Baker saying her stepdaughter, Zahra, is dead, and that her husband did something "horrifying" to the girl after her death.

"We didn't really kill her but what he did after the fact is kinda horrifying," says one of the letters Eric Gein claims he got from Elisa Baker, who is in jail. "Makes me scared of him."

The Hickory Police Department couldn't confirm whether the letters are authentic. Deputy Chief Clyde Deal said Tuesday night that much of the information in the letters has been widely reported in media accounts and isn't new to investigators.

Gein, who lives in Jacksonville, Fla., and owns the website serialkillersink .net , has put the letters up for sale for $1,250 each. "Gein" is not his real name but a pseudonym he uses online and in news stories. He refused to give his real name.

If this is true that's messed up that he would try and sell the letters, and I dont even want to know what "something horrifying" is.

I didn't read all of these details when the news first broke, but I just did. Needless to say, I'm furious and very saddened by all of it.

Like many of you guys, I'm usually not in favor of torture or even the death penalty. Here is an exception.

Sometimes it amazes me that people can be so horrible, and then I think that crimes like these are more commonplace than most like to admit.

After a nearly monthlong search for a missing Hickory girl, police said Wednesday they have discovered a bone that might belong to Zahra Baker.

Search teams found the bone in Caldwell County where police have focused the investigation in recent days, but police wouldn't say exactly where the discovery was made or describe the bone.

Authorities sent it to the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for inspection. They said if the agency determines the bone might be Zahra's, they will turn it over to the State Bureau of Investigation for lab tests.

Grim details in Zahra Baker's death:frown2:

In newly released court documents, a source says she may have been raped.

In stark detail, court documents released Tuesday disclose new allegations in the death of 10-year-old Zahra Baker, the Hickory girl whose plight appears to be more disturbing than previously revealed.

The records don't say how Zahra died or why no one has been charged in the girl's death.

But one unnamed source reported to police that the girl may have been raped by two men and that they may have physically assaulted her, the documents say. At least one of the men was acquainted with Zahra's stepmother.

The documents also say police were told that Zahra's body was dismembered, placed in trash bags, and discarded.

The unnamed source said Zahra, at a time unspecified in the document, had been at a beige block house in Burke County with two men. The source, who got his information from talking to someone else, reported that Elisa Baker came to the house and saw Zahra with blood on her lower body, and that the men had raped her, according to the documents.

The source said he asked the person he was talking to if the men at the house had killed Zahra, and he was told "they might have hit her in the head," one document says.

The source also was told that one of the men said "he had done something very bad and needed to leave town."

but then it says this:

Police went to the house where the men were living and spoke to one of them. He acknowledged that he knew Zahra Baker but didn't think she had ever been to his house, one document says. He agreed to accompany investigators to the police department to be interviewed.

The two men couldn't be reached by the Observer late Tuesday. But one of the men told Observer news partner WCNC-TV that to his knowledge, Zahra Baker has never been in his house. He said he was questioned for 10 hours about the allegation and passed a lie detector test.

Among the details contained in the documents:

Elisa Baker's attorney, Lisa Dubs, told an investigator that latex gloves were used while Zahra's body was dismembered. Dubs also said investigators might find remains in the bathtub drain at the Baker's Hickory home. Officers seized the drain traps from the bathroom and kitchen.

Through her attorney, Elisa Baker said she and Adam Baker dumped a mattress and box springs that belonged to Zahra at a trash dump in Granite Falls.

Elisa Baker directed investigators to the Fox Ridge apartments in Hickory. Through her attorney, she admitted that she and Adam Baker wrapped Zahra's prosthetic leg in a white trash bag and threw it in the apartment dumpster.

Through her attorney, Elisa Baker said a bed comforter and car cover had been used to conceal and transport Zahra's body parts for disposal.

Police administered a polygraph test on Elisa Baker. Among the questions were: "Did you hurt Zahra?"; "Do you know if anyone has done harm to that child?"; and "Do you know the person who wrote that ransom note?"

Elisa Baker showed deception on all three questions, according to the documents.
