"Panthers QB Clausen experiencing 0-5 again"

President? Me? I'm so honored. I've actually just started posting about Moore when the Clausen homers took over. You are going to be disappointed come the 24th.

You Clausen guys just don't like to face facts.

Not really because if Matt does play and put up a brady like effort we win. If he doesn't Jimmy will be back in and Matt and you will be gone. Win Win for me. :cheers2:

Yes the team lost but you can see it wasn't jimmy fault they lost.

poo if Lebron James avg. 30+ points 8 rebound and 6 assist for the playoffs and his team loses. It's not his f'n fault he did everything he could too win.

With those numbers Jimmy can't be blame for 6 loses like he is on here. Nobody brings up this poo when talking about Golden Tate or Mac Floyd who also were on them teams.

My point exactly. I'm not laying blame anywhere, I'm simply pointing out his stat line doesn't amount to a hill of beans unless the team wins. He goes 28 TD/4 INT and the team is 6-6. I'd rather have a 9-2 team and he goes 10 TD/10 INT. Point is the individual stat line is useless.

"It's not his f'n fault he did everything he could too win."

I'm sure he wasn't doing that alone, either. I'm sure there were 10 other guys on his side of the ball and 11 guys on the defensive side of the ball doing everything they could to win as well.

Jimmy Clausen has "Backup QB" written all over him,in my opinion.

if you want to know what happens to Clausen....just look up Brady Quinn. It is oddly scary the similar things that are going down w/ those guys......

same college, same hype, same fall in the draft, same QB coach, same checkdown mindset.

Again it doesn't change the fact that people were screaming for Golden Tate and he had the same 6-6 record.

I just find it funny nobody bring this up when talking about him.

that isnt a judgement based on 3 games. There were a lot of similaties before he started his first game.

I don't dislike Clasuen. He might be decent if handled right and in the right system. I don't like him being ruined.....which is why I want him off the field.

Again you only get ruined if you weren't tough enough 2 handle the pressure from the start.

Point is I'm not a Jimmy fan or a Moore fan I'm a panther fan. I find it more improtant for the future of the team to find out if the QB with a multi year contract can play then the one with a 1 year contract.

Colt McCoy was drafted to by the future of Clev.....why wasn't he on the field week 1? Wallace and Delhomme were never on the roster to be the future.....so why the delay?

You can put guys on the field before they are ready....and it can and does do damage. Players only have a short window to prove they have it or they don't. You put a young QB on the field before he is ready b/c that autmatically starts his window of evaluation.

It isn't just pressure causing Clasuen to suck right now. He could handle pressure.

Fox's offense, the talent around the QB position, no veteran QB to guide from the sidelines.....is just setting this kid up for failure. I don't see how any Panther fans are in favor of keeping this kid on the field after watching the first 3 games. Sit him in the bench and let him do some basic learning he still needs to do before he turns out to be a wasted pick.

another example. You could draft a promisng young CB who may excel in zone coverage. He might need some time to adjust though before he is ready to play.....now, a coach could say screw that. The coach could decide he is going to only have this kid play man coverage and put him on an island w/ no help week 1 and see if he has it or doesn't....like you claim. The coach could contine to do that for weeks. The result is you probably kill this kids confidence and put the start of his career in a hole. The result......he is seen as a bust and his career could never be given the chance it deserved.

it ain't as simple as just throwing kids out there at any time and any scenario.....and it is just up to them to prove yes or no.

imo.

If you like Clasuen imo you should want Fox to put him on the shelf and bring him back out later this season. Odds are Moore would give you window/reason to do that. If not, Clausen is still fresh for the new coach.

Individual stat lines are not useless... They just don't tell the whole story. That does not make them worthless, it just means you have to examine other things, too.

Clausen's 28/4 stat is impressive for a personal stat, but his team still lost. Still, it shows he has the capability to protect the ball - against other college teams. Whether we're willing to think that will carry over to the NFL is another factor entirely.

We'll see how it goes.

PS: Lebron is a dumb example imo, and I don't want to go into it any more than that, because this isn't the right forum for it, but I had to say that was my opinion anyway!

I kinda agree, but I think Jimmy can still learn and grow from playing in that offense. I also think that the experience really could prove invaluable... depending.

Either way, I don't think Fox is deciding on if Jimmy starts or not based on "Carring" him.

That's your problem I'm not a Jimmy Fan or a Matt Fan. I'm a panther Fan and what is best for the team is too find out now what we have in the player with a multi year contract. Given this is a lost season and could end in a top 3 pick. I want the new coach to know if he needs too draft a QB or something else with that pick. Their is no reason too play Moore unless you want to do this same thing next year trying to find out if Jimmy can play.

I don't know how things were looking in Brown's Practices and offseason.

Maybe Delhome and wallace were far and away out performing Mccoy.

We know here that wasn't happening it was close between Moore and Clausen and tie goes to the rookie with a multi year contract.
