JR's agenda has to do with this season. If he is still on the roster come Monday, you can be sure the Panthers will try to retain him.

If we trade him it better be for the Packers 1st round pick because if they get him then they are going to have a REALLY low pick come draft day. They would easily be the superbowl favorite from the NFC if they get Deangelo. I don't see them doing this...just not a very Panthersesque move to trade a really quality player who is nothing but a positive influence. We would rather string him along and then lose him to FA.

JR cut away the fat he's not going to cut away the muscle.

He handed out massive contracts to Gross and Gamble just 1-2 years ago. He was totally willing to shell out a ton of money for Peppers.

He's very committed to keep all the drafted talent we have, unless another team outbids us(Spoon, Moose, OL backups). In all those cases the team that won over payed.
