DT: "I'm ready to be a great receiver."

He might ultimately not work out, but at least he seems motivated and ready to prove his worth and earn it. I dont remember Dwayne Jarrett ever making statements like this. Not sure why so many are ready to write him off.

It's the whine and 'geez' crowd.

Really? I remember him making quite a few statements like this.

And thats just this year. He's been making promises for quite a few years. I just hope DT actually lives up to his promises.

I'm willing to give the guy what amounts to a second chance. From a lot of accounts, he did slide through his first 2 years in Washington and fell asleep at a meeting and was lazy, etc. At 21 years old and a ton of attention, $$ and instant fame can make certain people act a certain way. I personally wouldn't, but I'm not going to judge DT as a lost cause because of it. At 26, 27 or 28 years old, yes, but at 23 years old, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that getting cut wakes him up. Yes the Jarrett comparisons are pretty spot on (and he's even number 80), but who's to say DJ won't have the same revelation with his next team. DT has an uphill battle and will have to prove a lot to fix his rep, but the dude hasn't even played a down for us yet, has 3/4 of a season to go, and we're already casting him as a mistake.

There IS a reason he got cut. But it has nothing to do with his ability to play receiver.

Enlighten us, Prove to us that he wasnt cut because of his production

As a matter of fact, post his stats, and show us those werent the reason why he was cut. According to you, he produced.
