probably none. you don't think that what he has done has created a bit of leverage? you have to have someone of a hardball stance in any negotiations and have done something to let the other side you aren't playing around. there has been nothing richardson has done that hasn't said that he and the owners aren't screwing around on this, that they will lock out the players if a new agreement isn't reached.

you don't have to get everything you say you want to get what you really want. owners aren't bending over a barrel and neither are the players. both are playing tough. they will both end up making compromises and concessions because it's in both of their best interest to do so.

I'm not happy with what's going on this year, but I have no doubt JR will return to form when this CBA thing is resolved. JR has never been cheap until this year, with the threat of a lockout looming large.

Guess what folks, I don't think JR likes being 0-5 either but he's looking at the big picture and he's positioning this team to emerge from the new CBA in a very strong position. We clearing cap space so we can re-sign our core, taking stock of our young players and "neutralizing" our roster so our new coaching staff can shape the team to their specifications. Look at the difference a year has made in Tampa.

We're just gonna need to suck it up this year and keep our eyes on the prize.

i have spent money, not that it is any of your concern or not.

again, if you don't like it, unload it. no one is making you keep it. if you keep hanging onto it and don't like the return you are getting on it, then it makes no sense to keep it.

agreed. there have been quite a few of us that have been upset at the status quo and have been wanting big changes to take place. well, we're getting them. what makes it more painful is that they should have been done gradually over time but they weren't.

too many people within the organization and in the fan base were more than happy being average or just slightly above average. fox has had as his goal throughout the season to just win three out of every four games. their desire to keep what they had personnel-wise, the old "21 of 22 starters returning" deal assumed that they had very little that needed improved. we had been satisfied with the mediocre performance of jake delhomme and a record that consistently skirted right around the 8-8 realm.

it bothers me that we are losing now but at least they are trying to shake things up. at least they are trying unconventional ways to improve and get away from players that just simply were held on to for too long. we get these favorite players that we want to keep until they retire and once they did want to bring them back as a coach. every player that the team let go of was considered to be someone who was going to come back and bite us in the butt.

i'd rather us fail miserably trying to improve for the long term than sit on our butts while we watch an aging roster and ineffective coach keep hoping that at some point, if they keep doing the same thing over and over and over that they will eventually get through that window of opportunity that grew smaller with each year.

no way getting around it. even if you have over the air rabbit ears, the brand of tv you bought, your food and beer companies all pay for ad revenue on the stations which in turn pay the panthers and the nfl to broadcast their games. the interest of fans watching draws that revenue.
