Did anyone hear Fox on Sirius today?

He said we are young a QB all 3 have 13 or so total starts. Everyone is playing us the same way...8,9,10 in the box making film study worthless. Teams will continue to play us the same way until the passing game improves. The edge problems early giving up the big run was Brayton crossing the face of the TE. They joked about golf. Fox set Ryan up at Quail Hollow. They will practice till Thursday and take Fri Sat Sun off. He doesn't know yet who will start at QB until he sees how practice goes. I get the impression its up for grabs.

Both Kirwan and Ryan think we should trade Smith for a 3rd and play all the rookies the rest of the way. Said we aren't going to win any more games with him this year anyway.

Blasphemy!
i don't know. i think he doesn't have the patience to work with a young team. he's alwasy thrived when he's had older guys he could turn to and now they are all gone (except kasay). he's now being sort of asked to fill a role that peppers was and i don't know that either are especially cut out for that kind of thing.

it would hurt to see smith in another jersey but i'd get over it.

anyway, we get a 3rd for him and that would give us 3 third rounders. not a bad deal, imo. use a couple of those to trade up into the late first or early 2nd round.

Give up one of our only Playmakers on Offense and a proven Vet..... C'Mon Man.... For a 3rd??? Yea let's see how we do drafting a WR with our 3rd round pick and then tell me if that guy is worth Steve Smith.

It's not easy finding playmakers and you don't give up or trade your playmakers just to have another crap shot at the NFL Draft.

hell no. get a 2nd rounder or you keep him on until he asks to be traded imo.
if his heart isn't into it (which i'm thinking might not be too far from the truth) and he's giving a lot loss than 100% and he keeps getting hurt then we don't need him around. i hope he can stick around and be productive but it may not be that a young and developing team is the best situation for him.

more than that, i don't think that he would be all that good for a young and developing team if he is going down the path that i was describing. it could just be some bad chemistry between him and the youth. i would rather not have that going on. if he is in the way of players developing and becoming a distraction then he needs to go.

I agree. If at any point you think he's becoming a little destructive in your locker-room, or a little too much to handle. Then you get rid of his ass as quickly as possible.

With nothing but young people on the team, everyone knows they're impressionable. We don't need Smitty tainting them.

then find another WR through FA or trade for one. apparently they are pretty cheap now a days.

you have to think about the big picture and long term in situations like that.

Everyone is playing us the same way, so lets stick with the same game plan week in and week out.

but with the way Ds are playing.....they are asking to be beat badly downfield. You really can't ask for more if you are an offense......every defense is clearly leaving themselves exposed. Think of the rare throws downfield by Moore or Clausen (not late in games when teams have moved to a prevent)........they are simply bad throws and plays are there to be made.

I don't always agree w/ Fox's execution bs.....but the QBs simply need to stay in the pocket.....take one on the chin and hit a homerun.
