Marshawn Lynch got a 4th and a 6th, remind me again of how DWill would get a 1st and a 3rd?

Also, the Pats just traded a 4th for Deion Branch, and it's been reported they are officially out of the WR market, as of right now.

OK Rufftown. Lets compare. Dwill dreads but nice wholesome guy. Lynch dreads and looks like a extra from a Little John video. Lynch was accused of sexual assault by his former girlfriend. Investigated for a hit and run. Carrying around loaded handguns and smoking trees. Frequents Applebees and TGIF's and occasionally steals from policemans wives while there.

D-Will has been top rusher in the NFL. Has been invited to a ProBowl. Is still only 27 years old and has several good years left. Oh and he keeps his nose clean and is not a thug. SO yeah he is gonna have more value.

Also i just heard today the Pats are sniffing around V-Jack. Do i need to compare Deion Branch to Steve Smith or do you surrender? Also the Rams could use Smith since Clayton is down for the season. Believe it or not the Rams could win the NFC West and end up with a mid first.

Could you see us with three first round picks? I can. Rams, Redskins, and our own.

I think Green would be the best pick.

No matter how much the Clausen haters want it to be so, he'll be the guy here next year. We're not spending a an early round draft pick on a QB. We likely won't spend a pick on one at all.

The only thing we'll do to address the QB position this offseason is bring in a veteran that won't cause anything more than a minimal QB controversey. Heck, it's more likely we see Jake back here next year over a rookie QB.

We've got our QB towork with, now it's time to start putting his future around him.

Take the money WR, and let him grow behind Smith.

Then, you've got Gettis, Edwards, and Lafell battling it out for the other side of the field and the slot.

If not, take the Corner, Peterson. Marshall's likely leaving, and he'd be the smart pick.

Dareus doesn't impress me, nor does it matter with Meeks at the helm. When was the last time he had a stud DT in his system?

Not to say I wouldn't like for us to spend our imaginary 2nd on one..

I'm not going to make any judgments until the end of the season. We need to see if Clausen(and the other rookies) can settle down and be a player.

Right now im going to take this stance but one thing is for sure. We need OL help. I really could see us take a T in this upcoming draft. Push Otah to RG and let The Dude be a back up. We need a T more then anything else cause if our QB has no lanes to throw threw and our RBs have no holes to run threw then were not going to be good.

Why pick a top 5 WR when we have a project QB. If we are going to draft someone in the top 5 especially with a rookie cap I would take another QB or DT/DE/corner. Clausen is cheap and not a high pick. Lets take another one and see if we can hit the jackpot with one of them. Truth is a great franchise quarterback make average receivers good. A great receiver like Smitty still can't do anything if the quarterback can't get them the ball.

Otherwise I go defense.

So you are the guy that drafts a QB the year after Troy Aikman goes 1-15 as a rookie?

Talk about reactionary.

A new rookie isn't going to sovle a bad teams problems.

Just ask Mike Holmgren or Bill Parcells or Mike Shanahan or any other coach/GM that has taken over a bad team.

A smart coach will go out and get a veteran quarterback and use his draft picks on players that can make an immediate impact.

The Panthers are not short on youth they are short on experience.

The OL is going to look a lot better when Otah gets back.

With that said, if we could somehow get an upgrade off the FA market, that'd be awesome, but I don't think spending an early round pick on one is worth the risk when we've already got 2 good ones and other needs.

Yes, one can be annoying with a ridiculous amount of penalties, and yes, one is always hurt and doesn't even seem to care about not being on the field, but we need veteran help fast on the OL. No matter how pretty a stud LT will look in this year's rookie class, he'll still be a rookie, and Clausen's going to get hit because of his mistakes. (Which is a hinderance to his development)

How do we know Troy Aikman. What if I am advocating drafting a legitimate franchise quarterback after we ended up drafting Brady Quinn aka Jimmy Clausen this year.

All of you assume hall of famer when you make those comparisions but honestly I see none of that at all. His low ball delivery, long wind up on any pass over 15 yards and poor accuracy are all markers suggesting he has poor mechanics despite all the coaching. It isn't just his being lost and clueless but poor mechanics and fundamentals that are also the problem. All of the things that people suggested he could do he hasn't evidenced at all.

Some things you can unlearn but somethings haunt you all your career. He has shown nothing to show he is a legitimate NFL prospect. Listen to the folks who know quarterbacks who have watched him for 3 weeks. He is defintely not who we thought he was.

Saying he is not a NFL prospect is way to strong. To early to tell his place in the NFL.

Grasping..are we?

lots of people made the Brady Quinn comparison before he was drafted. Thus far that looks to be on the money. It is actually scary how similar they are....same offense in college, similar check down mindsets, and similar coaches at the pro level.

I'm not giving up on Clausen yet, but p55 has a a point here. The freaking out and bad decisions I can handle in stride .. he's still adjusting to the speed of things and to the complex defenses. But his mechanics are BAD and going to be a lot harder to smooth over. Weird delivery, low balls, big ass windup and his arm looks weak whenever he throws long (not that this happens much).

I still think you start him after the bye, but I'm a lot lower on the guy now than I was a couple of weeks ago. He looks like a big project, not like the most pro-ready QB from the previous draft.
