Anyone ever had to land in very windy conditions? I flew into Minneapolis a few years ago and it was windy as hell. Pilot had to fly in a little sideways with one of the wings lower than the other because it was a cross wind and leveled it out about 10 feet or so above the ground. That will loosen your sphincter a bit.

I took off once from a place called Loreto...on the Baja...the plane did it's normal taxi to the runway...and then actually got pushed back even further to make sure it was at the very end of the runway. They jacked the crap out of the engines before releasing the brakes and that plane used every last inch of runway before taking off. They actually cut the 8 foot perimeter fence to 4 feet at the end of the runway.
