I'm sure he has been, but anyone that doesn't acknowledge the fact that the caliber of players AE faced in college are nowhere close to what he will face in the NFL is just being silly. We have already watched AE get hit in preseason and couldn't hold on to the ball and that was by players that were cut bait, dude just can't take the hits. He isn't ready for it yet. A couple of years to put on some weight on and maybe.

He played against lower competition, I'll give you that. These boys in FCS aren't tiny guys. Some are just more raw in talent, some are slower, some less athletic, but they certainly aren't on average much smaller. They tackle and run full strength. To act like he's never been hit before is stupid. A 300 lb unathletic person running into you hurts just as much as a 300 lb athletic freak.

I just don't want to see the dude get hurt is all, I think he could be a good talent once he learns the position. Right now, with the lack of knowledge for the position and the NFL game in general...one wrong move and it could all be over.

I'm fine with it, lets just get all of our future potential hurt or demorilized...GO PANTHERS!

Okay, so you tell me: when do we put Armanti in? Do we need him to add 50 lbs. or so before we let him take a snap in the league?

I don't think letting him play a bit at wide receiver or in the Mountaineer package is going to demoralize the guy. In fact, if he does well it could inspire him, his team, and this entire fanbase -- all of which could use a little inspiration right now.

You do realize that this league and this team have plenty of "undersized" playmakers, right?

If the kid can make plays, put him out there. If he gets hit and injured, then you can tell us "you told us so."

Until then, let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Straw man argument ;)

He comes back and says "I told you so". Guys around here will hit him with "What kind of fan want our players to fail" or "You want a cookie?"

Honestly though, I want to see what AE can do too. I've already seen enough of Lafell to know he needs to be our #4. If AE goes back to inactive, that will just piss off the ones such as myself more on why we wasted a likely top 35 pick on him.

Yes, I think so. He's been dressed more than Edwards, but what has he done thats better? He was more prepared to play as an NFL wide receiver coming out of the gate so he got a quicker start, but he has far from impressed in my opinion.
So he has been less impressive than AE?

I agree LaFell's shown the least of all receivers, but I'm not going to give up on him or Edwards should they be inactive. Our receivers are so horrible that I'm fine with putting any of them out there to see what they have. If it turns out they're not ready, so be it. At least we tried.

How about enough time to learn a new position...you know the important things like how to protect himself when coming across the middle or something like that? And yes, an extra 50 lbs would be nice and in better shape so he can run the routes without "losing his legs"

Has nothing to do with how tall he is, has to do with the fact that he is only 98 lbs wet and wearing boots. He will get killed coming across the middle if someone the size of Peppers lights him up.

I hate to see the kid carted off the field.

SMH, Life Rule Book, Rule #4 Bylaw 4.15-3:

If someone says "I'd hate to see..." odds are, they would love to.

Excuse me sir, your hate is showing, if you could put that out of eye view, we'd appreciate it.
