how does a 74 year old man, trade winning for money?

Being that he does not have many years left..this CBA is going to be Jerry's legacy.

When you are close to death you worry more about your place during your time here..."What will I be remembered for." Unfortunately for us he is putting off the short term winning for this "legacy"

This is obviously the main reason his sons were canned b/c of the brakes placed on building this team and re-signing its core.

Its why Marty Hurney spits water at his own reflection in the mirror as he takes another bullet for King Hardees.

If we get killed on the re-signing of the core...DeAngelo, Beason, Kalil, etc. ...then I think we will be in a dark ages of the Panther team for another 5 seasons...gulp.:mad2:

Unfortunately he's preparing of the future. Still though we could have signed some good players at a decent price but instead he's being a cheap ass. The team should try to be the best they can every season. The fans deserve better than to pay and watch a young and inexperienced team embarrass themselves.

It is ONE YEAR. One year of spending regression DOES NOT MARK A TREND. It denotes an anomaly. There is a reason behind what he's doing, whether its for the "NFL" and his circle jerk owner partners or part of a greater financial plan for the future no one on here really knows.

The reality is that it's probably a combination of both. The other reality is that JR has never been cheap for this team, outside of this ONE YEAR. Until he does the same crap coming out on the otherside of the CBA I don't think anyone has to ability to say that JR has had a completely 180degree turn in ownership thinking.

Also I doubt very seriously that JR thinks he's dieing this off season, or the next. Do you think he's gonna die this year? Why then blow the future for one year if you don't feel like you could die at any moment.

Yep, and the sad thing about this is I see it playing out exactly like that. I'm prepping for some hard times with Panther football. What players are going to want to come here and play for JR

Why wouldn't he sell the team? He's getting older in age, has a bad ticker, and his sons are out of the day to day operations...I mean hell I don't know the guy but it's a better explanation than "HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE FANS HES MAKING A SHITTY TEAM OUT TO LOSE RARHARAHRAHRAHAHAR"
