Dog bites and kids

If your dog bites your 8 month year old then you probably should put it down given the age of the dog and the likelihood of it happening again.

Would the dog bite anyone else for startling it just by touching it?

If so that is a serious liability not just for your child but for other people and thus your bank account. It was not taught proper social skills and is to old to learn them now.

I don't think the dog meant serious harm, but it doesn't take much to leave a scar on a kid. Nipping will do it. Apparently the dog sees the kid as a peer and feels its ok to try to dominate him. If it were me I would find the dog another home and sleep better, despite how my wife felt with her emotional attachments.

This.

Serously.

If your son is 8 months old now they only get more aggressive towards pets as they get older. My 2 yr old smacks and drags the cat around by her tail when were not watching. As your son gets older he will be more interested in the dog and want to play with it more.

Honestly there really should not be a choice between a child and a dog. Bottom line.

Get ahold of you kid already, jeez

Good to know, he has no fear and I can see that only getting worse over time.

I hope everyone knows this dog didn't bite my son, this accidental scratch just made us have to think about what we'd do if he ever did.

Although truthfully I'd rather just get rid of the dog and be done with it, eliminating the possibility.

Uh oh, I've already called DSS and reported you have neglected your 8 month old by letting your dogs use him as a chew toy.

I think you are playing with fire here buddy.

If something bad happens, you'll never forgive yourself, and I find it hard to believe that your wife doesn't put kid above dog.

Don't seem right.

No offense, just that I pity ANYONE or ANYTHING that might bring harm to our kids.

Not from me, I'm just a guy, but my wife can take you apart six ways from Sunday and she'd dissassemble anything that hurt our kids.

And since she happens to be Korean, a dog would be wonderfully seasoned and prepared.

:D
