Dog bites and kids

Same thing happened to me with a neighbor's dog when I was younger. Bit me right in my face and tore up my lip. Didn't have to get stitches, but had to go to the Dr. and have them look at my profusely bleeding face.

My neighbor was nice enough to put the dog down, it had a lot of behavioral problems and they had two young children at the time. Guess it depends on how you feel about the dogs around your kids and other people's kids.

So does this dog. I would have said he "did" have these problems before yesterday.

He's bitten lots of men, two of my friends included. When I first met my wife he tried to bite me but I showed dominance and tamed him.

He has seemed to prey on those with fear.

Yeah, because once the kid starts walking he will never sneak off and get into anything while you look away. Meat should run a day care.

yeah, and even though my boy isn't walking officially he's cruising and crawling and he's fast enough he might as well be walking

If you keep the dog there will always be that chance of a bite happening.

Maybe it would help if I posted a pic of my daughters face right after the bite?

If you get rid of the dog there is zero chance. Infections from dog bites are very bad. Couldn't you adopt it to a home with no children?

I'd love to go that route but the dog is 13 and on his last legs, nobody would take him in.
