How can anyone justify Moore over Clausen at this point?

08NFCS the reason I'd prefer if they would just sit Clausen now is because I fear Carrification. He was showing signs of it last game and it is something I have significant fear of in regards to the future of this team. Clausen is supposed to be our future but if he turns into David Carr because of this year he will instead be a significant set back.

I support Clausen but I do not want him playing anymore this season unless the line can protect him better and he can trust them to do so.

I take the side of the QB who is performing best and right now that's Clausen.

I have no personal attachment to Clausen, if Moore can do a better job then I'm all for that... but right now Clausen gives us a better chance to win simply because he does not generate as many turnovers as Moore, it's as simple as that.

That is an interesting point. I remember Smitty sitting out a game or two when Carr was so horrible and couldn't get him the ball. While it is clear that Smitty is hurt, I wonder if he will be in a hurry to come back with Clausen in there who has shown no ability to get him the ball. I had the same thought as you did that Smitty clearly prefers Moore and might work to get back in the game a little faster if he thinks that the quarterback could actually get the ball to him.

I say, you wait and see how Clausen responds after the bye week. Some guys just have that chip on their shoulder and can work through adversity. If he comes in there with a mean-on and guns this offense into a fight for SOME kind of productivity, then we will have seen what we need to see and can play either guy from that standpoint.

Either way the blocking has got to get fixed. When several of the largest and fastest guys in the world are staring at you like youre dinner and your O-line is suspect, things arent going to turn out well. . . and it takes more than one game to earn confidence in each other as a team.

Well we all agree the line needs to get fixed before anything can happen. But I do disagree with the "Chip on his shoulder" and can work through adversity because wasn't that what was supposed to happen after the draft?

Now he's got two chips on his shoulder. I've never heard of anyone having two chips on their shoulder's and using that as fuel. Usually just weighs them down.

According to Catman you must not have a clue then. Seriously who cares about winning games and scoring points when you can go 3 & out and give the kid in the 3rd row a nice souvenir on one of your scrambles from no one then throw away.

Also, Clausen has 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles lost resulting in one less turnover than Moore. So I would say neither has shown they can protect the ball.

This is what pisses me off about you. You cheer against Clausen so you will be right. You're going to be really sad when Moore isn't resigned. But unlike you I don't pray for turnovers when Moore is in the game, like you do with Clausen.

I don't cheer against Clausen. I still watch every game hoping we win. I hate the Clausen Clowns who try and sugarcoat his play and hand the kid what he rightfully hasn't earned like the rest of his life.

Where did I say I pray for turnovers? If you can't have a discussion without putting words in my mouth because you are all out of excuses for Clausen then just simply leave the thread. We all will forget you were in it anyway.

Also, what I said about Quinn is in response to his fans and not Panther fans. Yes I think Moore is a better QB and should start. I've also stated that prior to this past game that once the switch was made he should leave Clausen out there because he can't do that to him but after the way he has played and regressed you have to sit him down and give Moore a real shot.
