How can anyone justify Moore over Clausen at this point?

I know you guys were all on the Matt Moore bandwagon before the season started and it's literally impossible for you to admit you were wrong but he's not a good QB and won't be a Panther next year. Time to move on.

he might not be good and it may be time to move on.

that doesn't mean you ruin your draft pick in Clausen by putting him on a field when he literally can't handle what is going on around him. So b/c Moore was bad, you think it is a good idea to ruin this kid??

again, not sure how you define Moore by 5 quarters and throw out the other 34.

He only played one team resting their starters and that was the end of the year. Seattle at home played all their guys and so did Dallas on prime time Sunday night football. The only reason I used those games are because those were his first 3 rookie starts. Same with Clausen's first 3 rookie starts.

Do you want me to count the time he came in against ATL(???) and only threw a hail mary at the end of the half because Delhomme didn't have the arm strength and it got picked off? You're really holding that against him?

Dallas had starters out (injured or not, don't remember). And they still beat us :( heh.

He played against NO, TEN, ATL, NO, and JAC that year and wound up going 14/32 for 176 yards and 3 INTs before starting. All I'm saying is that he didn't just pick up a football the first time he touched it as a Panther and light it up. he took some time. he sat in the system. he built some chemistry. and yes, he played well at the end of it.

have to decide if benching him could do more harm than good.

Provided he can take it like a big boy then I would say we need to sit him. He is getting ruined right now and picking up bad habits that need to get drilled out of him. Of course with the wonderful QB coach from the Browns that we have we may have to wait for the new staff to come in for it to happen. Which imo just further supports sitting him and letting him learn with his eyes and by talking to Moore/Pike/Whoever else.

I think it's a bit too early to say he is being ruined, but he might be. That last game had him running scared, but that doesn't have to be how it always is... We'll have to see how things go.

Maybe his father can buy him Charlie weiss as a QB coach. :P

Clausen is the right QB to be playing...give him something to work with, anything. A RB who on 1st down can get more than -2, 1 and 0 yards on consecutive 1st downs, an OL to block so he doesn't have to roll out, and receivers who can catch and keep their feet in bounds. Coaches who act like they care would also help.

See my post about fixing first down. I'm on the same page as you.

Moore isn't a rookie and isn't our starter. When he was brought in, he threw as many picks as the other quarterback had over 3 games. meh.

Perhaps Moore should have been given more time, but it is what it is... and it's Clausen's job to play himself out of in the next couple weeks.

Hell yes! I said that a few posts ago (117 or something).

I want this team to grow and learn together. I want it to win. I want a quarterback who grows into his WRs, with them, and develops the kind of chemistry I see on other teams.

If Moore starts, I will hope he does well and he shows everyone that his first couple games this season were an aberration. I just don't think he will. I was astonished Clausen started after the TB game, as I thought Moore would get at least 3 games, but I am 100% behind Clausen now. If he stumbles (and I make no excuses for his terrible play this Sunday, just trying to explain it a bit), then I would understand Moore getting another shot, and I hope Clausen can make the most of that and learn from the sidelines.

EDIT: There are some people on this forum who root for one QB or another who literally want someone to do poorly so their guy gets a chance. That is not me. I want this TEAM to do well, and I want whichever QB we have to prove to be "the future" or "the answer" or even just "the person who can score without turning the ball over multiple times" =\
