This doesn't even sound like Richardson...

Or maybe it's just that Jerry owes much of his success to the NFL as an organization. He respects the league and above his own franchise that has made him who he is today, upholds what the NFL has established as "in their best interest." Without the NFL, there is no Carolina, might he think to give back to a business that granted him with an expansion franchise some years ago? Doesn't seem too senile to me. Mr. Richardson handles his franchise and business with class and ethics. Whether we as fans can admit it or not, the league's well-being, to Richardson, is more important than winning at the current time. All teams rebuild, some overhaul when economics call for it.

Panther fans, patience would do us all some good. I've never been more excited for this team, somehow...

Well said there. I like your thinking. People keep complaining that JR only care about the money & not the fans. How can he not care about the fans when they are the reason we have an NFL team here? I think the "money" thing is he trying to save a lot when the lockout happend. It silly to waste a lot with the lockout coming, 'cause then he can use some of the money to pay Beason, Williams, Kalil, etc. a new contract when the lockout is over. Fans who don't pay in protest may be responsible for us not getting them if they won't pay anymore & we could suck even more. Think about that, folks.

Richardson had to go through an operation on his heart about two years ago or so & I remember we all cheered/prayed for him...so it doesn't make any sense for him to be so cheap & not care about his fans this season. I know this sounds stupid but perhaps there's a catch to this...Even the players don't know what the hell is going on. I know Fox is clueless

I'm not so sure I understand your logic here.

Because the fans wished Richardson the best with his operation, Richardson should spend money with a lockout looming to show he cares about his fans?

Richardson cares about the fans. He cares about them paying higher ticket prices... he cares about them buying the products he constantly streams on his video boards and jumbo-trons... he cares about them paying $4 for a bottle of water. :D

Seriously though, I'm sure he would love to have a happy fanbase... but it doesn't seem to be high on his list of priorities.

Any damage done to this team won't come from it's fanbase. It will be from the attitude of the FO. Richardson has been known as a "players owner". But looking at recent events, namely making a "fiery speech" to other owners about taking their NFL back (namely, from the NFLPA = players), and the demoralizing approach he is taking to going cheap this season prior to a possible lockout, that would no longer seem to be the case.

more than one business owner has been forced to choose the lesser of several evils to insulate the business for the what he/she feels is coming in the future.

it seems to me that any sensible fan that actually came to the conclusion of "it's a money thing" would lay off at that point and respect the decisions being made whether they like them or not.

the phannz however are not expected to understand or respect anything

So, having a corncob-up-his-ass attitude and not communicating anything to the people who buy PSLs/tickets and give him such a good cashflow is a good thing? I at least respect your right to that opinion.

I don't think any sensible fan is going to be happy with "it's a money thing" when the product they get for THEIR money is piss poor.

Oh my new car doesn't work worth poo "it's a money thing" next years car will totally be better.

No one takes that attitude they just never buy that car company's cars again.

Confirming things to the PSL owners and other fans would likely result in a drop in merchandise sales. No reason to do so in that case.

lmao off at comparing buying a new car to buying a seat license

dumbass

you buy a]guarantee to buy a ticket to watch a game where you have a chance to maybe watch the home team win. What part of that looks like a safe bet?

you don't like the team having ups and downs..tough sh*t. I don't know how anyone of you pissed off PSL owners ever got to the point where you felt like your money was going to somehow change the outcome of the games in the future. You did not buy a vote. You don't even have enough power to keep the hot dog prices from rising.

YOU HAVE NO VOICE. YOU ARE STILL JUST A FAN.

That smoke that gets blown up your asses with magazines and emails and Christmas cards is just that...smoke.

Thanks for your cash. The stadium is real nice.

Looking at it as some kind of investment is ridiculous. How many of you idiots thought you would make money one day off of a PSL or two in Charlotte NC?

HINT.....if there is actual ticket demand there is no need for a seat license strategy

derrrrr

too much whining here. suck it up gurlz

Ehh... maybe, maybe not. Either way, he doesn't have to confirm anything. Sometimes just saying "hang in there, guys" can go a long way. IT's better than nothing at all, which to me comes across as quite arrogant.
