Do whats right....trade Steve(n) Smith...

Awesomeness!!

How said cut? I clearly said for some good value. A 1st if possible...I wouldn't just give him away...

Randy Moss just got traded for a 3rd rounder.

Since Smith still has a couple years left on his contract, he MIGHT be worth a 2nd rounder, and that's still probably a bit much. It's just not worth it either way.

1) smith isn't going to get you a first. maybe a second. dunno about that. It is virtually guaranteed that trading him would not net you the value he has to the team. (Moss went for a third for some perspective, and Moss likely has more trade value than Smith)

2) do we know if he even wants to leave? not all players want to abandon a team having a couple of poor seasons. He may want to stay here.

YOu idiots missed my point. For once, the FO should put the player first, and try to do whats best for him. I bet if Smitty came out today and demanded a trade all of you would cry and bitch and moan about it, and call him a trader, but as soon as the FO cuts somebody, they did it for the team....

All I'm saying is give the guy a chance to win...

fug NO the front office should not put the player first. Their only objective is the try and do what is best for the team.

Stick to Madden.

Hell no!! It flat out dumb to get rid of our best player. He might not win one here, but how we know he will with another team? Nobody know what team will win next & it hard to tell it will happend. Remeber when Gary Payton & Karl Malone went to the Lakers? They didn't win crap there & Malone retire without a ring. Payton got lucky he end up playing with the Heat & finally won it. The Malone's situation could end up the same with Smitty playing on another team.

You are not going to get much for Steve Smith now... being he is out with a high ankle sprain. That kind of injury is not some gimmie of when and how a player will come back. He could be ready in 2 weeks, 5 weeks, etc. So if anything the Panthers are not going to get that high a draft pick and even an older Steve Smith next year and after will be better than some unknown picked later in the draft.

Steve Smith doesn't DESERVE anything. In this league you take what you can get and expect nothing to be handed to you.

WHY should the front office put the player first as you put it? What does that do for them? How does that make the team better?

The real point of this post though is to say I'm sorry you don't understand the basic concepts of team sports.
