For all of you who hate everybody on this team...

I'm glad you started this thread... Although I like fox, and dont want him to go. I agree that so many "fans" on this board are so quick to judge these players, ROOKIES at that! That LaFell thread... I don't think I read one post that was positive. Rookies make mistakes, it takes time for the game to slow down for them, they aren't a number one draft choice they shouldn't be excpected to come in and dominate defences! Even the first rounders don't come in and immediately excel in the NFL. Two or three year down the line if these guys are still having the same production in games, then it would be reasonable to critisize them.

Fans are supose to suport the team through thick and thin, a few rookies make a few rookie mistake and they are consided a bust and a waste of a draft pick? That they should be automatically cut? Come on! I sure hope none of the players get on here and read what ya'll post, knowing their own fans aren't even behind them. Its a young team, alot of knew faces, with alot of guys never playing with the guy in the huddle next to him. They will come together as a team at some point this year.

Rookies should eventually show promise. This is the big time not D-League. Ours have shown exactly no promise. Other 0-5 teams actually have promising rookies

Fans are allowed to be pissed. The Panthers are my team and I can be angry when the don't show up. I'm guessing you don't go to a lot of games.

Also try spell-check

Just shows how bad this team is. Most teams are evaluating talent and if you don't cut it you go to the next guy.

On the Panthers we are all seemingly willing to sit through 11 more games of failure and not have an issue with it.

Because we are now a D league program for the rest of the NFL

By all means, who is our "next guy"? Again, are you supposed to just start cutting rookies, signing FAs, end up cutting them when they drop a couple passes (they are FAs for a reason...), repeat? Most guys who don't cut it on other teams are expected to contribute as a slot or a rotating number 2 guy. We have 3 rookies who are trying to all be number 1s.

I think our WR depth chart, until Smith returns, needs to be Clowney (I liked what I saw today. Feel like he is our best WR other than Smith), Gettis, Lafell, Edwards. Once Smitty does return, Clowney starts and rotates with Gettis for certain plays at the 2, while in 3 WR sets, Gettis is the slot.

I guess you expect every rookie that comes out of college to come in and light it up! Must be nice living in a fairy tale world... It doesn't happen like that!

I would like to go to all the games, but I live four hours away and can't afford to go to alot of games. I'm a panthers fan, and I understand they are young guys, with many of the guys playing together for the first year.

Sorry I mispelled a couple of words... you understood what I meant though right?

Clausen looked worse today than he did the last couple of weeks, but that's to be expected. He'll have some steps back. What matters is if he steps back up or not. As cocky as he is, I don't see him folding. As long as he has the goods, he'll definitely has the attitude to make it.

But has he had any steps forward? I mean what are the goods?

What 1 positive have we seen?

This is my point. At some point before say November you have to see something. One NFL caliber drive. One crazy play for a TD. A game winning drive.

Give me anything.

you people have given him all year to suck

He can't really criticize your spelling when he clearly refuses to use commas at all. And don't try the whole, "I live x amount of hours away" thing, because, apparently, that means nothing. You must drop everything you have to do on Sundays to drive to Charlotte for home games. It is a pretty well-known fact around here. God forbid you say you don't have the money.

He's run a half dozen quality drives, but none of them came today. No, he isn't always going to be the one making all the plays with his arm on this team but he doesn't need to be. For many drives in the recent past, Clausen made the clutch throws he needed to.

As to the positives? He was previously good at escaping pressure when he needed to and finding the open player for big gains. Today... none of that happened.

Either way, what option do we have? Okay, cut him? Who then? Pike? He doesn't know the playbook, came into training camp late, etc...

Tony Pike fell as far as he did because he probably can't cut it as a starting QB in this league. Moore has proved he has Jake Delhomme-itis. Clausen is better; not by much, but he is. He's the best we have right now.

You come off as one of those guys where if a player from each position isn't making a SportsCenter top 10 play, he isn't worth a damn. I am completely fine with being boring and methodical and driving the field in 12 plays every possession if it means wins. No matter what philosophy we seem to run with this coaching staff and the inexperience on the field, we will suck. Get used to it. 11 more weeks of this. We may eek out a win or 2, but we seem to stand an ok chance of going 0-16 unless the defense can start putting some points on the board for the offense.

Hey its the truth... can't help it. I'd love to be able to go to every home game... Just isn't isnt so easy for me.

Jesus I have to explain everything.

I never said i want these rookies to light it up. I want these NFL players making millions to show me anything. Anything at all.

We may suck but we have a lot of superstars still out there supporting these poor rookies.

If you think it is OK for an NFL QB to not have one decent play all day against a mediocre team then you are in the fantasy world.

Show me one play.

If you are happy with that then you are the one living in a fantasy world

Nobody said they were happy with a damn thing today. Yes, Clausen had his WORST appearance in the NFL today. But is it ok to let false starts on 4th and 1 slide? Is it ok for a WR to go blocking down field too soon on a screen? Is it ok for a DE to get a facemask on a would-be 6 yard loss? Everybody screwed up today. Including the coaches (but we all are aware of that).
