New QB Coach: Rip Scherer

Looks to me like they hired the first and only guy they interviewed. They didn't give this one much thought and either don't care or don't value a QB coach that much.

Kind of my thoughts as well, sure Anderson had his great year a couple years ago, but i dont remember much happening in Cleveland this past season. Jake needs some work, hopefully this guy WILL make some changes

They are all better than anyone McCoy has coached up.

yes they are that, Delhomme still has the same problems he had when he got here now and most of that can be fixed but McCoy didn't believe in making changes to qb's and their techniques and methods. I'm just glad he's gone, maybe just maybe, some of delhommes problems can be fixed and adjusted.

Ridiculous statement. Anderson had an impressive season last season and Quinn had only been with him two seasons and subsequently got injured in one of his two starts (?) so basing him on that is just plain foolish. Dorsey also signed with the Browns this season if I am not mistaken, along with Gradkowski so that is hardly much time to make a huge impact on a QB especially when they fell like flies for the Browns. the Browns had so many problems this season that NO QB would have performed well.

Interesting note: ESPN reported (and Gantt confirmed) that although he will have the official title of "offensive coordinator", Mike McCoy will not call plays in Denver.

Head coach Josh McDaniels will do the offensive playcalling. McCoy's duties will reportedly be the same as they were with the Panthers.

Mixed bag IIRC. Pretty good at first. Then there weren't enough balls to go around among the recievers, OL/RB talent was suspect and it kinda fizzed out. I looked at it when we hired him and I remember thinking, well, he did okay at first, but it looks like he didn't fit with what they wanted to do (and had the talent for) as an offense.

Funny how people forget the 2-1 record against pretty good teams in '07. Yet because he stunk it up in preseason, he now sucks. Here's an idea: Preseason is just that, THE PRESEASON.

Should I explain further? Or do you all catch on?

I'm not saying he's going to break Drew Bree's type records... But anyone saying he downright sucks isn't looking at the games that matter. And so far, that's all you can go on.
