Back off the rookies.

Why does he? Because he isn't playing like a veteran qb?

Somewhat. Dont expect him to light it up but even rookie QB's can get more than 1 first down in a series. Also he still is bobbling the balls on the snaps. Overthrowing once in awhile is understandable but he is doing it way to much. He is rattled to easy now let him sit and get his confidence back.

I might have had just a glimmer of hope had I seen any improvement with Clausen, but he's actually gotten worse in three games.

And had I been Matt Moore when Fox told me to warm up and get ready to go in the game 14 points down, a couple minutes left and no time outs I would have proudly displayed my enormous middle finger to said coach...

To some of you Clausen goes from franchise QB to "he sucks" in a week. Seriously if you're gonna spew that crap just shut up.

I realize he was bad today. He needs a damn O-Line and not to have WRs drop passes all the time. Placed it perfectly to lafell in the 1st quarter I believe...he couldn't catch it. Several times that happened.

Whoever says "Moore is more exciting, play him" let me say...interceptions do not excite me. And with Moore there will be bunches of those.

Get Jimmy more than 0.5 yds on 1st down, the ball further than our own 15, receivers who can catch the ball (not LaFell) and a defense that doesn't kick ass after Forte gashes it.

yeah, Fox trotted him out and Moore did exactly what a QB is suppose to do. Come in and just throw it downfield hoping for a miracle.

what happens? Moore just gets bashed for doing the only thing he could given the scenario. He had to throw it up into the endzone the last play of the game.....then reporters like Gantt get to claim Moore was just as horrific today as Clasuen b/c of a stat sheet.

Is it just me, or does Clausen's game eerily resemble David Carr's.

Before you guys jump all over me. I'm not writing him off, but the similarities are there.

Carr had a trash o-line his first couple years, and he developed happy feet in the pocket and would look to run far sooner than he should. He was notorious for scrambling and throwing passes out of bounds, rather than staying poised in the pocket and delivering a throw.

I don't think playing Clausen is in the best interest of Clausen himself. I would sit him down, let him learn and hopefully next year a new coach can develop him.

P.S. Rip Scherer is a horrendous QB coach

Should Clausen have done the same in the Giants game? Or the Tampa Game? You know, when he had to go in and make some kind of attempt to clean up Moore's joke performances to start the season?

They're both bad.

Nope, because they're not the same players with the same circumstances. Clausen is going to be here for awhile with his contract. Moore will be gone next season because he has no contract next year.

But while you've got Matt Moore on your mind, go back and look at Moore's first three starts as a rookie for the Panthers in 2007 and tell me where the disconnect is.

You're right, at this point neither is good at all. And the one constant from Jake Delhomme's seemingly overnight collapse, Matt Moore's Jekyll/Hyde act and the immediate regression of Jimmy Clausen... Rip Scherer.

That's kind of the point of this forum. Play Monday morning QB, coach, GM and scout.

Plus I'm good at it.

Back to the point...certainly you can find some rookies on crap teams who are showing moments of brilliance?

I can think of a bunch offhand. I'll name some if you want

Not superstars day one but a few good games already.

our rookies have none. 0 bright spots.

the NFL moves quick

Zero bright spots? H'ok, I'll break the news to Hardy, Pugh, Gettis and Clausen then.

You know what? I'm pissed about the game and started to write something bitchy, but you're right.

f**k I hate this season.
