Armanti Edwards

Punisher

No.......we couldn't have that. Let's just keep playing these pathetic tall stilt light poles then. One of them even had his daddy hire a "Professional" QB coach for him since he was 13 years old. He MUST have Potential. Besides, could bruise his ego.

What a joke, and what a waste of time and money going to the stadium to see this when you have your answer, Armanti Edwards, sitting on the bench.

Just because the Panthers are currently playing LIKE a team from the Southern Conference doesn't mean that we are playing The Citadel or Wofford next week, or at all this season.

Playing in the Southern Conference or for a Div-I AA school doesn't disqualify someone from playing in the NFL. The number of players who make it in the NFL is much smaller but Flacco is doing ok. Hoover did ok. There are others.

I agree it would be the exception to the rule but I believe AE has the talent to play QB in the NFL. He's never going to have a chance to prove it though so it's a moot point. I believe AE has the talent to play WR in the NFL but he's still learning. Maybe he'll make it maybe he won't.

Panthero is right. All of these AE threads are a circle jerks until something gets proven on the field.

Armanti Edwards IS the answer. He is the only QB that we have that can get the job done. Has a terrific arm, as the announcers said they saw him in practice and he has a "laser arm". He is only an inch shorter than Drew Brees so that shouldn't be an issue.

AE could get us time in the pocket for our rookie receivers to get open. Can run like hades if he has to. He would have outgained our total yardage of today on just scrabbling out of the pocket when nothing is open.

Clausen is NOT an NFL QB. Too slow, makes bad decisions, doesn't survey the field, doesn't find a passing lane, hardly any mobility, cannot take snaps sometimes, cannot hand off sometimes, he gets too excited sometimes to even do his job. This thing of give him time to mature is ridiculous. Anyone can complete one pass now and then, doesn't make them an NFL QB. We are talking about someone that has had a professional QB coach since he was in the seventh grade. Didn't do it at Notre Dame either.

Put Armanti Edwards in at QB. I know they have not worked with him much during summer and preseason, but he will still do a heck of a lot better than any QB not named Edwards.

Didn't people say the exact same thing when the Falcons drafted a guy named Brett Favre?

I'd be excited to see Armanti in at QB for the majority of snaps for at least one game. It would add a new wrinkle to things and could make our offense come together as the defense would have to sit on their heels trying to not over commit and allow a mobile QB a running lane. This would improve our running game, and make our Oline look better as the defense wouldn't be able to just blitz every passing down.

If they were going to, our next game would be a good one to do it in because they have two weeks to prepare. At this point there is no harm in it. The odds of it happening are slim to none however, especially with the panfaces that run our offense.

By no means do I think Armanti can succeed for the long term as a NFL QB, but he couldn't do any worse then what we have seen at this point. I wouldn't start Armanti but I would allow him to lead a few drives a game against the 49ers and see how he performs. If he does well then I would re-evaluate him to maybe split some time with Clausen.

He defiently has the advantage to execute bc of his mobility, but I would be worried ab him taken big hits with his size. Peolpe are comparing him to Vick but I don't think he has the same arm strength as Vick and also vick has at least 30lbs on him.

I think this could work in the short term by catching teams off guard and not giving them a chance to gameplan for him. But once they add a speedy LB or safety to spy him I think the experiment would fail.

Just needs to gain in game experience just like the rest of the first year guys doesn't mean he should be the full time QB tho. Some wildcat and in the slot with him and Gettis getting the ball should be where he gets his experience.

Off topic but they need to take advantage of Armanti and Goodson's(where the hell was he at yesterday) speed.

It seems like John Fox has an issue with Armanti, i was watching hes press conference and someone asked him about the 2 plays with Armanti in, and he made a sny remark like "I must have missed that play, but i think it was 7 or 8 yards im not gonna argue with you, it wasen't a first down"

Like Jimmy Clausen got a first down.

I'll agree with the 32 NFL scouting and player development personnel who don't think Armanti is an NFL QB. Not knocking those of you that may have watched him more than me, but if it's an argument I know nothing about I tend to side with the smartest guy in the room.
