After three: Bears 17, Panthers 6

Not much of consequence happened in the third quarter, as these two offenses are carpet-bombing the NFL back into the Bronze Age.

Nothing summed up the quarter better than the fourth-and-1 the Panthers appeared interested in going for about midway through (though this quarter last lasted a week.

LG Travelle Wharton, who has probably been their most consistent offensive player this year, was flagged for a false start which pushed them out of field goal range (since John Kasay missed a 51-yarder).

Kasay did bounce back to hit a 53-yarder on the next possession to close the gap to 17-6.

Todd Collins threw his fourth interception (to Charles Godfrey) and was replaced late by Caleb Hanie.

Collins left the game with a 6.3 passer rating.
