The guys a rookie... give him a break! The game is much faster in the pros. The guy wasn't a first round pick or anything you should expect him to come in and totally dominate defences. First round picks don't even pan out in the pros. But you don't just give up on him, just because he hasn't astonished everyone in the first five games... Next year or the year after is what it could take for the game to slow down for him and be more comfortable out there... He's dropped a few passes, it happens to every reciever.

Right, rather than getting the best guy on the board, they go after this specific mold of a WR. They can't adjust the scheme to accommodate different personnel so they're stuck going after whoever exactly fits into what they run.

This is also one of the reasons why they took Dwayne Jarrett over Steve Smith. They looked at him as a big possession moose type receiver.

Just adds to the eternal list of reasons why we need to clean house.

That's not an aspect that typically improves over time either. Most guys that come into the NFL having problems with drops deal with it their entire careers.

T.O. is a prime example... But, he can at least catch more than he drops when they hit him in his hands, plus he's a deep threat/threat with YAC. LaFail is none of these things and has drops a VERY high percentage of passes that hit him in his hands.

I don't know if this is based on how many hit him in his hands, but here is the # of passes not caught... Guess what? He's the only rookie on the entire list and he's tied for 10th. Also, look at all the other guys on the list above him, superstars to pretty good players who make plays when they catch it more than not:
