Official Peppers - Panthers Geamday Thread....

talk about blind. Jimmy has been nothing short of garbage. Even w/ the rookie curve factoring in he has been bad.

Moore stayed in the pocket for two plays. Made two throws. Not his fault AE knocked it up to get picked.

Moore isn't great. Not sure he is even good. There is little arguement that Clausen is currently better. Not w/ Moore's resume. All the Moore haters won't to talk about is 6 quarters of bad play and ignore the good he has shown.

Two INT's in 3 minutes how am I blind when I said ANY QB ON OUR ROSTER will struggle this offense is subpar and it's the playcalling, coaching and execution.

Is this why he "slipped" to us in the 2nd round maybe? Tate made him better than he actually is?

I'm trying not to hate, but I want our team to succeed with whomever is best in there. Right now, it's definitely not Clausen, and most likely not Moore. But then.. who?

be careful what you say, I was saying this for 2 full weeks after the draft and got hated on for it, maybe I was right

clausen slipped all the way to the 2nd for a number of reasons, but I don't think Tate was why.

what we're seeing is a combination of factors, and it could have happened even if he had been taken in the first by any team with the staff and players we have.

and most of the guys who hated on you would have agreed with you if we didnt draft him. i had the same thoughts but had to ride with it when we picked him.

and want to know whats scary? after we drafted him the guys on the draft panel said we almost traded a pick to get him in the first round

Pathetic football today. Both teams looked terrible and our offense is not even half as good as DETROIT. I hope the players develop this season and things start looking better for the future, but right now there isn't anything positive to point to.

we did, we tried to trade next years first to the rams for the 33rd pick, which is getting old that hurney doesnt value a first round pick, all r first round picks r studs and then we cant draft worth a poo till the late 5th-7th rounds. picks in rounds 2-5 are horrible and I feel we should go out and get a consultant for drafting a WR or QB cuz r scouts in those areas are horrible

I've been saying that for years.

Didn't get to watch the 1st half, but did the Panthers stack the box and try and let a backup scrub QB beat them instead? Sort of like everyone does against Carolina?

If they did and Forte still broke it, well then man I don't know what to say.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
