This is not a rebuilding year

Happy Panther

We had all the cap space we wanted, but Jerry is trying to look good since he is the chairman of the owners on the CBA. We have never been worth a damn for two years in a row, now or ever, and I'm sick of it. I'll be glad when we are sold and moved so i'll quit wasting my money on a sorry franchise who will never be good or have the fan support cause of the city its in!

Fans always want to convince themselves that they're only one or two pieces away from being contenders but I don't agree that's the situation the Panthers are in now.

We've got some serious holes on the team. DTs are probably the worst in the league. Same for the WR corps. Our DEs have two sacks through 4 games. Gross is on the downslope of his career and getting a new franchise LT isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world. Gaping hole at RG and an often-injured RT. Marshall may be leaving after this season. Even some of the positions that look solid the depth behind the starters is terrible.

Adding a couple free agents this offseason wouldn't have fixed this mess.

I totally agree. I say we have the absolute worst DTs in the NFL. I think we definitely need to draft there in the 2011 Draft. Our DTs, in turn, make our DEs look awful, as well. No pressure up the middle results in guys just blocking the DEs on the outside.

A LT is one of the hardest positions to find a solid anchor like Gross has been. So, we would have to look there.

The RG guard position is in turmoil. Although, I do believe that once Otah comes back, Schwartz will make a decent RG. He's much better than the world's Weakest Strong Man.

I think the number one thing we are missing from top-to-bottom has nothing to do with talent. I think the main thing we are missing is a really good offensive coach. I think we've been missing that since Henning left... Hell, maybe even since '04. Fox has proven just too stubborn to want to change, and that's his downfall.

Always can tell who owns psl's and who don't. Buy some then have an opinion. We suck and have always sucked, and we will continue to suck. Our greatest player in team history can play at McDonald's in the kiddie area and not get carded! We are bush league and i'm sick of it!

D-Will is a bargain at the current salary and is a FA in 2011
he's a FA after the 2011 season. anyways, he won't make it to FA. he'd get slapped with the tag or traded first if the panthers don't give him an extension (which is the most likely possibility). if the panthers want him (which they more than likely do) they won't have any problem signing him and money won't be a problem.

teams will be wanting a RB of his caliber, work ethic, and attitude and he's still relatively young. mileage isn't too bad at the pro level either (thanks to stewart being there). if we wanted to move him, we could at a decent price.

lol.

I guess that's why we've been to two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl in the last seven years. How many other NFC teams can say that?

We are stacked at RB. Dwill is at the end of his contract and though nobody wants to admit it is actually getting up there in age for a RB, who have notoriously short careers in the NFL. He's probably got a few good years left before he drops off but not too many. Then add in the possibility of a lockout and missing an entire season on top of that.

Meanwhile, Packers are trying to put together a run at a championship and are desperate at RB. I'd be on the phone trying to pry away their 2011 1st rounder and whatever else I could get.

I would have also considered trading Smitty but we missed our window there. With him being injured you're not going to get much value unless a contender in "win now" mode suffers a few injuries and is really desperate.

If you have psl's i'll shake your hand and tell you i'm sorry tomorrow morning. I'll give you my phone number in a private message and will say i'm wrong in person, cause most people talk when they not losing 4000 bucks a season, but i'm man enough to say sorry if you are invested in this sorry product as deep as i am!

NFC Championship

New Orleans, Minnesota, Arizona, Philly, Giants, Green Bay, Chicago, Seattle, and Atlanta.

Which of those were multiple times?

Carolina, Philly, and New Orleans. Yeah, we definitely have always sucked.

Super Bowl

New Orleans, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Giants, New England, Chicago, Seattle, Philly, and Carolina.

Wow, we've definitely always sucked.

I would for a 1st round + 2nd day pick. If we dont plan on signing him long term.

Ohh the old "throw baseless bullshit out there and hide behind the smoke screen of being realistic" ploy. Works every time.

The reality is that every NFL teams loses at least a few vets every year for various reasons, ranging from declining skills to horrible contracts that warrant a dump. To say that the Panthers would do the same isn't really news, what would be "shocking" is to assume that the Panthers roster will stay the exact same plus any additional draft picks.

Of course we are going to lose players in two more years when their contracts expire. Gross isn't getting any younger and his skill set is on the decline, especially with an apparent ability to let injuries linger and affect play. The reality is that the majority of the purge has happened. Yes we will see some players leave, like I said, but nothing like this past off season, just the normal progression of out with the old, in with the new. The rebuild was started for a new coach to come in and finish.

Lastly, to assume that the team will be in new ownership in under five years is beyond stupid.
