John Fox Last Weekend as Coach

The only person who knows is Richardson. I'm just saying it wouldn't be crazy for him to hand it over to Meeks. Meeks is respected by the fans. He's respected by the players. The fans might show up to see a 4-12 team if they feel there is hope. If Fox is still around, they might decide to save those bucks for Christmas shopping. Richardson is smart enough to know that.

its whomever made the personnel decisions over the last two off seasons that should be fired.
He will be, that is his contract is up and that will be it....I bet Foxy had way too much control over that. Not this year, however. This is the beginnings of cleaning up his mess.

I don't think it would be JR doing the firing. By all accounts JR isn't a micromanger. Hurney will be the one to fire Fox. If Hurney wants to save his job if he team is looking at multiple blackout down the road firing Fox would make sense.

My guess is that JR is much more involved that he has been in the past. He realized that he had been trusting the wrong people with his team and he started doing something about it.

What would a firing mean in terms of compensation for Fox?

I don't think Richardson would pull the trigger if he had to pay Fox for the rest of the year

So what? He gets paid whether he stays this year or not. Why keep a lame duck on a 0-4, soon to be 0-5, team whos philosophy, play calling, and game management are still hurting the team?

Wrong on all three levels.

Fox's philosophy is to run the ball and play good defense. We have done both of those reasonably well, and minus turnovers and by our inexperienced QB's and a horrible right guard we are likely at least 2-2

Play calling: Am I missing something? Is Fox on the sideline with an offensive play sheet calling the plays? I didn't think so. Davidson is pathetic. I'm not saying Fox is some offensive guru who is limited by Davidson, because we all know that to be false. However, it is also a known fact that Fox's focus is on the defense and he lets his offensive coaches run thier offensive scheme and system.

Game Management: The New Orleans debacle in the last 2 minutes is soleyo on the shoulders of Davidson and Clausen. Clausen using time outs and taking his time calling the plays, meanwhile Davidson not having him in shotgun after d-wills 4 yard loss.

I actually thought Fox called a great time out before incurring a 5 yard delay of game penalty on the 4th down play to Gettis.
