who knows..what smith is known for is brake away speed and at what age does that decline and then his lack of height will catch up to him when he cant make plays because his speed is gone.

Speed drops off typically (Joey Galloway is an exception) but Smith's game is not based solely on speed.

He should have 2-3 years left of his current production, and another 5-7 years of being a very good receiver.

2-3 years left in prime with great numbers (as long as he stays healthy) and 2-4 more after that as a someones great #2 reciever (as long as he stays healthy).....

I love this guy.... he is the best thing that has ever happened to this franchise... he has single-handedly taken us a lot of places. We have a shot at a SB while he is with this team under two conditions.

1. We keep our great running game

2. We correct our devensive issues

We have to get this guy a ring. To come from what hes come from starting out in this league to where he is now is simply amazing. GET THIS GUY A RING!!!!

That's the whole shame of these lost seasons and probably next season...Steve Smith is in his prime and we have wasted opportunities with a staff of guys whose expectations are so low: "golly....we won more than we lost...pop the champagne Mike Turgovac .....call Dan Henning and see what he is doing...whOOOOO!!! Unlike Peppers, Smith will stick with the team. And offensively it looks like it will begin to payoff as we finally have a real running game to compliment him.

Sadly we dont have what he needs most to compliment him, a Quarterback!
