they'll allow you to upgrade early if you pay the $20 penalty. They still call it new every two when you do that because you are renewing your contract to get a phone at the contract price.

i've heard several accounts of people raising enough hell in the corporate stores to get by without paying it. its always been in place, but the stores could go into the system, and change your upgrade date. they said that they couldn't do it for me because that ability had been taken away from them due to it happening so often. who knows if the guy was lying. i didn't care much about 20 bucks because I got an X and a Fascinate for the price of the Fascinate.

Me neither. My last phone i got early and didn't pay extra. You know some of those Verizon places can be shady. The one near Park road shopping center has been pretty good to me but the one in Matthews was feeding me a bunch of bullpoo.

I upgrade mine online for new everytwo and never saw a 20 dollar charge..maybe its just for the stores.

my brother is one that i know of who has gotten the deal. he just always threatens to leave for another carrier. like i said though, the fee is only 20 bucks and wasn't worth making any scene over IMO.

my new everytwo is always before my contract end date and I usually, except for this year, renew before my contract end date. Ever since I have been renewing I have never paid a fee.

lol. Why do you hate apple so much? They are projected to sell 40 million Iphones this quarter. I think they will be ok. Plus when the Droid users start a new 2 year i bet apple gets at least half of those. All of you have some little stab at apple every chance you get.

I love Apple. I have a Mac Book, and I got my dad an ipad. I just like my Droid X more than I like the iPhone.
