Why was the name "Bullets" so offensive? Yes, DC has a high crime rate. Someone would have to look this up, but I believe the Name "Wizards" were an old ***** Baseball League. That's not offensive?

Dont know about the Wizards name but they felt it reflected negatively on DC so they changed it.

My first ever NBA game was a Bullets/Hawks game in Baltimore. I also had a Bernard King poster on my wall as a kid. Still, my favorite team is the Charlotte Hornets.
