Todd "Montana" Collins

lol...todd collins a pretty good QB. wow.

too funny. aside form that brief stint filling in for campbell, where in the world would you get an idea like that?

he's old, he's got a weak arm, he's beat up (got a stinger last week and had to leave the game and still has a sore neck), he should have retired last year and almost did but the bears were desperate and brought him in.

he's a record holder but the record he holds is for the longest gap between starts since the merger of the NFL and the AFL.

he was at best only ever a clipboard carrier who had a fluke run of about three games where he managed not to suck until he got into a playoff game.

other than that....the only thing he has going for him is the supposed record that panthers have against backup QBs. if there was something to not be worried about, it would be this.

I was about to write something very similar, however it shows that most people really do just read what someone says and accept it as fact.

In 2007 he took over for an injured Jason Campbell with 4 games left of the regular season. He played well against the 5-8 Bears, awfully against the 9-5 Giants, well against the 8-7 Vikings and well against the back ups in Dallas. Two legit performances against poor or average opposition...That is hardly leading the Redskins to the playoffs. They snuck in as a wildcard on a 9-7 record.

Other than his only full season as a starter Todd Collins has thrown 294 passes since 1995, completing a staggering 170. That's 15/26 a season in years he was active (11), which is what most QBs manage in one game.

How anyone can convince themselves that he is a savvy vet clearly has no clue how to draw conclusions for themselves and have to rely on second hand knowledge to generate any thought process.

I will concede that we have a history of letting the back up QBs play well against us, however that is not because of their quality, it is actually down to our lack of performance. Do not kid yourself, this guy is not a good or even average QB, however in this league is you get complacent then you are bound to lose.
