no i wasn't, and i don't intend to home school. i do intend to pay whatever i have to though to see that he/she is in the best school possible. even if it means losing money on a house to move to the right district.

That's what I'm doing with my 9 year old son. I have moved into a better district of town to where I was told the middle/high school he will go to is the next best thing to a private school.

i've got about 10 yrs for the situation to improve. currently Leland schools have a bad rep. the area is growing though, and schools should get better as a result. if not, and i'm still in this area, i'll be moving so that the kid can go to hoggard.

Lee County Schools in South Carolina. We're the poorest district in SC.

i'm not sure if thats a shot at me, or just stating proven facts. home schooled children tend to be smarter on average, but socially inept.

It was more of a shot at you. Not personal though...if I home schooled my kids they'd only know how to use a Foreman Grill and nap

Don't lose money on a house, do as a good friend of mine is doing and keep the house and just rent a home on Wrightsville Beach.

And for the OP. This country's youth is being taught to pass tests, not actually gain knowledge or to do well after school.
