He also pays out over $100M annually towards player salaries, and who knows how much on advertising, maintenance, staff salaries, etc. etc. etc...

Not defending him, but the profit margin is a lot less than the $1B-200M quote is showing...

Yea but that dose not take into account NFL revenue sharing. SF prob gets about 10M of that and so do other teams.

There is not a single player that makes more than an owner. That 59 percent is split between every active player and practice squared in the NFL. Meanwhile that remaining 41 is split between 31 guys who are already millionaires plus the governing council of the packers.

Thats like Jarrett from Subway making more money then Subway itself.

No that's like every single subway employee combines taking in sixty percent of net while the remaining 40 goes to shareholders.

At some point the the Players need to know that the Owners have them by the balls. Then after that Goodell needs to know that and give them a deal.

Its why the union is trying that desperate move of decertifying so they can then sue the owners once they lock them out. Sort of a futile move considering the owners defense attorney's can easily say "they only did that so that can sue since the CBA agreement wouldn't let them". Bottom line is the high priced attorneys will argue, defend, continue and appeal for years. All the while the players are not getting paid and getting more desperate while the owners tighten their belts and survive off the TV contract. Guess who will cave first?

JR may have a team worth 1B he paid for 200M, but again, HE took a lot of the risks in paying that much to establish a franchise. The players didn't risk poo by him opening up in an expansion market. I'm not on either side, but I am a free market guy, so I firmly believe those who take the most risks and reap the rewards should not be punished for doing so. The players get paid a lot because of the risk of injury and short life span of their careers and they get compensated appropriately. I took a risk of shelling out more than 60K for a bachelors degree without any guarantee that I'd ever make enough to repay the loan, but now I don't feel bad about those who make minimum wage when I make a pretty good amount because I took a risk and they didn't do squat. I'm not saying none of them did, but the vast majority of minimum wage earners are not college educated.
