He found that the bottom 40% of americans have 0% of the wealth in this country. That's right, 0%. As in the things that they own do not account for the debt that they have, or it reduces it to nothing over the whole of the bottom 40%.

The top 20% of americans own 85% of the wealth in this country. A large majority of which is inherited.

They didn't mention it but I assume that the middle 40% owns 15% of the wealth.

They also surveyed a large sample of people on what they thought was the current distribution and what they thought would be the ideal distribution.

Regardless of political affiliation, race, age etc everyone agreed that the distribution should be more even, somewhere closer to the top 20% owning 35% of the wealth. That's a 50% swing.

That's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life...

I'm a college student, so I'm definitely in the bottom 40%. :(

Thats irrelevant regarding the statement I was responding to, namely that the owners are the only ones who invest anything.

I just logged back on, and was going through this thread.

The comment that you made, and then I made said nothing of investment, but risk.

Countless millions were risked by JR to start a team in NC, that is cold hard cash, or debt that could have bankrupted him. The players although having a heave time investment put up 0 money, and had 0 money at risk.

Really its Al Davis and like owners faults. If he would not give such massive contracts to his players then there would not be such a high price for there services. I mean yea he cuts them and dose not pay it all but that dose not mean every other good player in the League dose not want money like that. I mean its partly the owner fault if you look at it that way.
