Yes, College Football is a business. But, it's not a professional football business. There are huge differences (players getting paid, player merchandise being sold, tax payer/tuition paid team items, etc)

So, would College Football be a monopoly? Yes. Of the College Football business.

College players are getting paid, thats how you can tell your top ten team's in the rankings. Why am i a blue chip player and a die hard N.C. State fan, got a chance to play for the Wolfpack, and I go 3000 miles a play for a team I don't like? Money, and privileges, thats why they do it!

Dude, do you not understand the difference between entertainment and living essentials? While oil isn't technically something you NEED to live, you don't eat it, it is required by what ever mode of transportation most people need to get to work, the store etc. They cannot be compared.

But, you used AT&T as an example... Do I need a phone to live? Television? The internet? Use some logic, dude.

Football is not a monopoly. You have a choice whether to watch it, going to the stadium specifically.

Whether you have a choice to watch the NFL or not has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with whether the NFL is a monopoly.

The definition of a monopoly: a monopoly exists when a specific individual or an enterprise has sufficient control over a particular product or service to determine significantly the terms on which other individuals shall have access to it.

This definition describes the NFL to a tee....whether you chose to partake in the access of said product/service is irrelevant.

Please have a fuging clue what you are saying before you try and lecture the rest of us.

You are clueless when it comes to this....you have been wrong over and over and over.

Because congress is a collection of morons. I don't care what they say. If you go by that logic, then every single sport is a monopoly. If you want to see what a real monopoly is, go read up on the Stanard Oil Company or the original AT&T.

Actually Standard wasnt a real monopoly either. They had competitors they just abused their power as the #1 Oil company to get better deals ( sounds familiar).

A monopoly offering a non-essential product is still a monopoly.

You keep speaking about "choice".....a monopoly provides you no choice for their specific product or service. You are referring to choices to do things other than partake of their product or service. Those are two distinctly different things.

Piedmont Natural Gas is a monopoly in their service areas because they are the only one to provide that service. However, I can chose to put propane heaters in my house and turn off the heat......but, that does not change the fact that PNG is a monopoly.

Please try again.....
