Carolina Panthers waited too long to cut Jarrett

(By Scott Fowler, [email protected]) The Carolina Panthers finally cut their losses with Dwayne Jarrett on Tuesday, firing him on the same day Jarrett was arrested on a drunken-driving charge for the second time in less than three years.p/It was the first time the Panthers have done exactly the right thing regarding Jarrett in his four-year NFL career. Give them a little credit - they finally understood what fans sitting in armchairs around the Carolinas have seen for a long time. Carolina moved quickly Tuesday to fire Jarrett - just as they should have following the wide receiver's latest embarrassing incident - and I applaud them for that.

I try not to be negative about the Observer, but this article is terrible. What kind of sports journalists do we have that call for someone to be cut after they already are? meh.

Maybe he did it already but is this piece really necessary? Grah.

Love how all of the beat writers are coming out and straight burying a guy. God forbid if anyone else on the team so much as litters...these baboons will tear them apart.

Good luck elsewhere, DJ. You get one more shot. Smh.

he got his shot...obviously too many.

only one person to blame for the hole he's in. it's that dude with the spike in his mouth.

I'm glad I'm not a sports writer. Christ. No matter what they write someone on this board thinks it's awful.

True enough, which is why I try to avoid insulting their work usually. In this case, though, I feel like they are just trying to cash in on a recent event with some fan emotion. But eh, whatever. It's just one article. Overall I've enjoyed reading what the paper has to offer, though at times I feel like it's just Gantt's Twitter Extended Version.

Are these the same jackoff writers who subjected us to BS puff pieces about how much better Jarrett was doing EVERY SUMMER for the last three years? Maybe that is a sign some of these ass clown writers should be cut. I guess Fowler (or his wife) gives his boss good head or something.
