That's total garbage. If he stopped playing for Fox then why did he play well this season? It could not have been just the contract year stuff. If Peppers truly believes that it's all about becoming an elite player then it proves that it's all about him and not the team. Where in his "statement" did it say that Peppers really wants to help a team win a Super Bowl?

UHHHH DUH!

big year = big $$$$$$$ and a lot of teams fightin

I believe I read in the Interview in his agent that he was happy with the move this past season and he wanted to give the panthers and the scheme one more shot to see if he could tap his potential in Carolina. That he didn't make the decision to leave until last week.

ironicly enough on Wed.

bEOFRE the GAME

"Although he had 14.5 sacks this season, Peppers hasn't been happy in Carolina for quite some time. When Peppers was playing miserably in 2007 (just 2.5 sacks), I asked a teammate about the widespread rumors that something might be wrong physically. The teammate laughed, said no and pointed to his head.

The teammate went on to say that Peppers had stopped buying into Fox and simply was going through the motions."

I said it in another thread, and I'll say it here, I think we lost him when JR called him out at Minter's retirement press conference. I think he was embarrassed and offended, and I don't think his head was right the rest of the season.

Considring that Beason , Harris, Davis, Johnson, Gamble and the rest of our defencive players bought in and played hard, Id say its much more Peppers than it is Fox.

Exactly, good to see some people see reason in here. And Smitty, Williams, Stewart, Moose, and others play extremely hard on the offensive side of the ball as well. Peppers can be a slacker and lazy, and this recent stuff just coming out about him has just proven it.

Its, 'could care less' not 'couldn't care less'

Your intelligence continues to show, just as your posts do during game thread.

As someone who forks out a lot of money to watch pro athletes, yes, pay them by the game, it would help the 'this game, I'll play, this game I won't ' factor.

No offense but you should only correct someone when they are wrong. "Could care less" indicates you still care. "Couldn't care less" is the correct saying.

"I would like to leave this defense far behind. I havent had a real coordinator since Jack Del Rio in 2003. I havent had a feared pass rushing presence play on the line beside me since Kris Jenkins, who team management let go for nothing, and is now the monster anchor of the Jets front 3. Our pass rush has been a joke since our Superbowl year, and I have been double teamed constantly this season because no one else on this bargain basement front has pass rushing talent that opposing teams fear."

"The only other promising DL player, Charles Johnson, doesnt start, and though he had the second most sacks on the defense this year, cannot stay in games long enough for him to get valuable experience to hone his skills so that he can take some pressure off of me. Instead average back-up talents like Tyler Brayton get the bulk of the reps at left end. I am sick of the double teams, sick of the generic defensive gameplans and bad coaching, I want to play next to some talent and for a real defensive mind."

" I would love to stay here,I grew up and went to college in this state. But I dont see this team improving, like a team serious about winning titles. If I am franchised, I'll play out the year to the best of my ability, and if we bring in some big time talent on defense and we bring in a real coordinator, then maybe I reconsider wanting to leave. but if not, adios!"

fox007 ism starting to be in one of those groups i most commonly agree with, some of you are blind hypocrites.....you want jake to stay(who has clearly sucked it up),but you want pep gone as soon as he doesn't run over 3 blockers and the referee for a sack,ff and score.......give me a f*cking break.turn your back on pep idc,i will always be a fan of his like i am of drew carter and moose(when they left).
