I'm a little disappointed at the fan base who are throwing out the "FU"s at his wanting to leave. I'm also very disappointed that he's leaving. But lets understand something...he's not leaving for more money. He's already been offered that. He's leaving because he's not happy. I would say that would be the best and most appropriate reason for leaving.

To anyone who is divorced and throwing around "fu"...look yourself in the mirror. To anyone who is working for another employer, on their own accord, look yourself in the mirror. To anyone who has rellocated their family to a new home across town...look yourself in the mirror.

All of those decisions were due to being unhappy about something in your current situation. You made a decision to change that. I dont see anyone telling you to "f-off". He has handled this situation as well as anyone could hope for. He played out his contract. He deserves that respect. I wish him well. I only wish it were here.

Wait common sense here at the huddle...noway

Fans loved him? Really? If I was Pep I would have never noticed.
You sir, are correct.

He had every thing he could want here in Carolina, a team that just went 12-4, offered a contract to be highest paid defensive player in the NFL, the fans loved him here, once he goes to another team and the media and fans there won't put up with his inconsistent bullsh*t like we have here.

I have lost all respect for Peppers, he quit on us in 2007, and only played hard this season because it was a contract year.

Once hes gone he will realize how stupid of a decision he made.

I'm sure once he looks across his new Defensive line and sees a tackle and guard holding and double teaming a DT he'll be fine. Not mention the fans will love him once he starts racking in the sacks because of it. Yup, we went 12-4 because of our defense right?

Pepp is not drinking the "we won 12 games" kool-aid; I don't blame him either. Fact is he's on the couch watching the game just like the 0-16 Lions.

I'd agree he's doing what he thinks is best for him. I'm not dead certain it actually is what's best though.

The more I read of Peppers, the more I start thinking of Ricky Williams. That's not to suggest that Peppers is using drugs, mind you. More along the lines of Peppers being a "different" personality.

I think you're right, Peppers is definitely a different kind of football player than most. He says it isn't about the money and I really believe that, but I am confused about what he wants. He wants to go to a different system to be "used to his potential" but what is he really trying to achieve with that?

Does he want the sack record? Does he want to line up against a TE as an OLB? Does he just want an easier path to the QB?

I've never seen Julius as someone who wants or needs personal accolades, I've always seen him as a team player who really just wants the team to win. With everything now that has been said it looks like he wants to accomplish things on his own and make a name for himself even though he said his goal is to win a championship. Do we not give him a chance to do that here?

sorry, the "i'm just not happy" is a lame excuse.

it's a cop out.

Having gone to the games, Peppers sure did get a tremendous ovation each and every time he was announced, no matter how good or bad his year might have been.

He also sold a lot of #90 jerseys. I even saw them on Panthers fans from CA who were visiting Las Vegas.

He had a lot of little kids and big kids, in his home stadium with his jersey too.

He also got paid a tremendous amount of money, more than all of us combined on this board make in one year times one thousand, to play a kid's game.

How much more does one person need to know they are loved? ..whether they deserve the love or not, well, that's another question.

Fact is, the more I think about it, the more I agree with Charlie Casserly, 'he had every opportunity.....'.

I remember an interview with the great Deacon Jones talking about Peppers back during the 2004 playoff season, he said, with his god-given ability, he should be all pro every year, no one should be able to stop him; but, jones questioned his 'want to'.

Well, we'll see now.

you are insane if you think he is going to keep from getting double teamed if he poses a threat.

any time he decides to show up in a game he is going to get doubled up.

plus....he wasn't doubled up all that often either. rewatch the games. getting 2 guys blocking him wasn't what kept him from breaking records. it was his apathetic personality that gave up and took plays off that caused that.

don't give me that, "there will be another system where he isn't doubled up" crap. people double up threats.

He wants a ring and knows he won't get it here. I say he will be wearing either a Patriot or Steeler uniform next year, perhaps Cowboy (pukes).
that is stupid and short-sighted.

we aren't the chiefs. we aren't the lions. we were the #2 seed in the nfc and we went 12-4 in the regular season. we had a better shot of getting there than 90% of the teams in the NFL. just because we didn't get there this year doesn't mean we won't.

go find a team that you think can make it and be a fan of them. if it's good enough for peppers, its good enough for you.

let me tell you that no one loves you like your mama....meaning no one is going to love you like the team that drafted you...the grass is not always greener I hope for one that we trade him to a team that sucks and keep wasting his talent...maybe the raiders..but thats just me being a asshole
