David Clowney picked up by Panthers

He's no stud but he's better than Jarrett, easily. And with Smitty out we have to have someone to stretch the field. I mean lets think about it, he almost made the Jets squad and their WRs are waaayyy better than ours. Think Jarrett would have even come close? Doubtful.

The knock on Jarrett was his inability to run routes right? Well Clowney was chewed out multiple times on Hard Knocks for this same problem. Should be interesting if nothing else.

Great pickup for the Panthers.

Clowney has talent, the Jets just had more. (Holmes, Edwards, Cotchery are the top three WRs, and Clowney makes too much to hold down a #4 spot if he didn't excel at Special Teams.) Clowney will be expected to be a #2 here and that fits him much better.

Furthermore, Clowney is a great locker-room guy, and from everything I read - a better person.

Would you rather have Jarrett's DWIs, or this?

Anybody see his preseason stats from 2009? I know it's preseason but he did make a lot of big plays...and that definitely sets him apart from jarrett. I think he has potential and a ko of times all it takes is a change of scenery. So let's wait to pass judgement until at least a few games past the bye, although I would bet that he makes it on the field this week and maybe even makes a catch or two.

Because he is a Panther now. I mean I am guessing no one here watched him getting dogged on Hard Knocks? Or am I the only one thinking straight?

no i saw him on hard knocks too i said he was bitched at every single episodic in a earlier post....but i am keeping my fingers crossed that a change of scenery and the chance to be the guy will help him get his head right..

I don't think Hard Knocks carries any real credit. HBO edits out what the want too, so you never actually see what was really going on, and then they edit in things to make the practice(s)/game(s) seem more interesting. In this case, it just happened to be David Clowney getting thrown under the bus.

Whatever, at least we have another option at WR that isnt someone fresh outta college and who has some experience in the NFL.

Im actually surprised we made this move, but whatever, hopefully it helps us in the long run.

Why don't you go suck an egg.
