Will Fox be let go mid-season if we continue losing?

only way that will happen is if fox leaves mid season.

I was saying I can see either or will happen. If they do want a look at a coordinator as a possible successor they would Fire Fox. But on the other hand I dont think Richardson will Fire Fox out of respect.

I agree with everyone but it sure would make me feel better as a fan to see JR act like this isn't a throw away season. I guess the writings have been on the wall for quite some time, but I am finally starting to see the light. It is making the 3 hr. trip to Charlotte to watch the Panthers play more and more difficult. I don't mind losing, that is part of the game and rebuilding is part of the NFL, but the way we are going about it is all wrong in my opinion. They could spend a little money and go after a vet receiver and we would be competitive this year not to mention this will help to mold Clausen.

you really can't bring someone in from the outside unless they are unemployed (not in a coaching position) at this moment. That lessens your opitions. If Fox where to leave for what ever reason you would have to appoint an interm and set interviews during the off season to broaden the search. IMO........I don't want anyone on the staff at this moment to be our new HC.

I agree and this was the point to my post. Seems like the two names we keep hearing over and over are Cowher and Gruden. Both are "unemployed." Granted Gruden has a TV contract, but ESPN has always let announcers out of contracts to coach. I agree it is a long shot, but will be interesting if Fox goes 0-6.

If there is a thought that Davidson, Meeks, or Baker is going to interview, I can see it.

But as of today, I am saying that it won't happen.

I for one don't see this staff being retained at a large scale. Davidson more than likely won't be back, Meeks...only if he can get his guys to tackle better.

Would be a great P R move

The young offense is starting to look a little better moving the ball

But I would wait till after the Bye week

Fans have gotten almost to the point of No Shows over the product that is

New coach.with a slowly improving offense will make fams curious to get back in their seats

New coach will get credit for the wins and turning the team around

Fans will start getting excited about next season

PR turns a piss poor season into a small positive leading into next season, and help sale those PSL that everyone at this point will not be willing to purchase

You haven't been to many games if you are claiming fans are not showing up. The stadium was 85% full for the Bengals game and it rained the majority of the game (I was there). Granted that was for Clausen, but I expect this weekend it will be pretty full again (Peppers). Now for the games after that ... probably empty.

Normally I would say no way, but I wonder if Richardson is fed up. Not that Richardson is innocent in this debacle, but curious as to your opinions. If we are going hire Cowher and we continue losing, why not get him rolling? I know this sounds out there but if we are 0-6, is it really out of the question?

No, JR isn't going to fire Fox in the middle of the season. Richardson respects Fox as a coach and as a person, their differences reside in money, specifically, how much Fox should be making. That's the only reason Fox will not be returning.

Additionally, Fox will not be quitting mid-season. Fox is attempting to demonstrate his worth/value for the next job he has. Quitting mid-season, because one is losing, doesn't land a coach a great job with great pay.
