Dewayne Jarrett DUI.....

From 2006

Dwayne Jarrett is the nation’s best receiver. The NFL people will tell you it’s Calvin Johnson, but I can no longer stand by a guy who continually disappears in his team’s biggest games (even if it’s not entirely his fault). Jarrett has been shining in big games for three years now, and Saturday night’s performance against Notre Dame may have been his finest yet. John David Booty threw it to him seven times -- and Jarrett caught it seven times, including a one-handed sideline grab, a leaping catch between two defenders and three touchdowns. Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said afterward the New Jersey native is playing with a chip on his now-healthy shoulder: He’s miffed about being left off the list of Biltenikoff finalists. "He thinks he’s the best receiver in the country," said Kiffin. No argument here.

This is just pathetic! What a waste of a roster spot and money this guy has been. I don't understand why he has been kept around for so long.

With that being said, he will not be cut any time soon I'm afraid. We are too thin at WR now and he may know some of the playbook..I think! Oh hell...I can't even say that with a straight face. Get him out of here already and move on!

Fair enough. Who knows maybe he got unlucky...the old 3 beers and blow a .08. Either way if you already have a DUI the burden is on you

He could have only had as much as one beer right before he drove or maybe two and gotten this DUI. After your first DUI you have a restriction on your license for three years where anything over a .04 becomes a DUI.

After an offender’s license has been restored, a restriction is placed on the license prohibiting driving with a BAC level at or above .04 for a 1st restoration and with any alcohol in the system for a 2nd or subsequent restoration. These restrictions are in effect for 3 years unless the offender’s license was permanently revoked but could be restored. The restriction appears on the back of the driver’s license and is in the driver’s license record. A violation of the restriction is an implied consent offense. A violation of the restriction will result in at least a 1-year revocation.

i never have. i lost two friends before i got my license because of drunk driving and have lost other friends along the way. i have and will never drive impaired. it's a stupid thing to do and shows total disregard for all human life.

Im sure all you self righteous haters on here have never driven impaired. There but for the grace of god and possibly a bit more cerebral action go you.

I feel sorry for the guy - he had a chance that few people in the whole world will ever get and he was too immature or addicted to make the most of it. I hope he gets himself straightened out - somewhere else.

Dwayne Jarrett might be one of the few players that hates Charlotte/Carolina more than the fans in Carolina hate him.

Let's just cut him and end this unholy union. It's like a couple that's absolutly miserable but they stay together anyways for the kids. Except Daddy never let's mommy out of the house, and the kids hate both of them.

Problem is this thread is wrong. He had a DWI not a DUI, big difference. The guy was obviously intoxicated and not just drinking a couple of beers.

FALSE FALSE FALSE.

In NC there is no difference between a DUI and a DWI they are the same term, there is no different penalty or statute for either. It just depends on the country of residence on how they use their acronyms.

Some states differentiate between the two where DUI is a lesser charge. THIS IS NOT THE CASE IN NC.

I guess Im wrong, just looked it up. In NC They call a DUI DWI. They are pretty much the same thing. here is what I found

What is the difference between a DWI, DUI, OWI, OUI, OVI etc.?

These terms are all acronyms that refer to the offense commonly known as "drunk driving." Different states have different names for the crime. Most states use the phrase "driving under the influence" (DUI) to refer to the charge. Other states use the phrase operating while intoxicated (OWI) or operating under the influence (OUI). Like many states, North Carolina law refers to "driving while impaired" or DWI.

Separate from the implied consent revocation is the criminal charge for driving while impaired (DWI). In North Carolina, a person commits the crime of DWI if they drive a vehicle upon any highway, any street, or any public vehicular area within the state:

While under the influence of an impairing substance; or

After having consumed sufficient alcohol that he has, at any relevant time after the driving, an alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or more. The results of a chemical analysis is deemed sufficient evidence to prove a person's alcohol concentration; or

With any amount of a Schedule I controlled substance or its metabolites in his blood or urine.
