Dewayne Jarrett DUI.....

My friend just told me that there is something in the CBA that wont allow you to discipline for alcohol related offenses, hence why Braylon wasn't suspended...

Anyone know if this is true or not?

That is true, but that is per the league (i think...), he can still be released at any time

Alcohol-related arrests fall under the "Substance Abuse" policy of the NFL. On your second offense, you are suspended for a certain amount of time. (Is it at least four games, or is that just the general number?)

EDIT - per the NFL Substance Abuse Policy

The illegal use of drugs and the abuse of prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and alcohol (hereinafter referred to as "substances of abuse") is prohibited [ftnt 1] for players in the National Football League ("NFL"). Moreover, the use of alcohol may be prohibited for individual players in certain situations where clinically indicated in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

Substance abuse can lead to on-the-field injuries, to alienation of the fans, to diminished job performance, and to personal hardship. The deaths of several NFL players have demonstrated the potentially tragic consequences of substance abuse. NFL players should not by their conduct suggest that substance abuse is either acceptable or safe.

ok here it is:

Under the league's substance-abuse policy, it most likely means a suspension will be coming, if/when he is convicted or pleads guilty.

Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson received a three-game suspension after pleading guilty to a second-offense DUI charge.

I'd start drinking as well if I had to play in this offense...

Oh well, I've been one of the biggest DJ supporters of them all from the beginning... But, drinking and driving, especially a second time, is inexcusable with the lifestyle you have been afforded by being a professional athlete...

Cut him now please, and hopefully he'll land on his feet somewhere else... I hope this both for him as a person and him as a WR...

Just throwing this conspiracy out there, but could this have been done intentionally to force the Panthers' hand?

I laughed out loud in the car too when I heard this. I also heard that Rosenhaus called Panthers FO early in the season and said he would find a trade for DJ, but FO said "no"? WTF?

He still will be released JR doesnt play around with this stuff. First time sure no problem 2nd time you're gone. Specially if you dont produce on the field.
